Happy….wait for it…..Monday! 馃槈 I polled my audience a few weeks ago to see who likes + dislikes Mondays because I always feel like I am in the minority. I LOVE Mondays – like seriously LOVE Mondays. They’re my favorite day of the week. And not JUST because I love beginnings (think Januarys, 1st day of the month, a clean planner page, etc). I love Mondays because I have completely re-engineered my brain that way. Let’s talk about how you can become a person who loves Mondays, too!
HOW TO BECOME A PERSON WHO LOVES MONDAYS

Kick off your Monday on Sunday night.
I take 30 minutes every evening on Sunday to plan out my week. I create my daily task lists, look at all my scheduled appointments, and do any last minute prep work. This ensures that I start my week off without having to scramble and figure out what I’m doing. I think a big part of “Sunday Scaries” is the fact that people go into their Monday’s blind, and don’t have a plan in place for their week. I try to heavy load my task list Monday & Tuesday with the knowledge that if I don’t finish something, there is plenty of room to push it into Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. And if I DO complete everything, I can usually end the week off on a light note.
Create a special Monday morning routine.
This has been the very best thing I ever did for myself when it comes to my routine. I created a routine that I love SO MUCH that I literally leap out of bed excited to get to it. It’s a special routine that I only do on Mondays, and it kick starts my week on the exact right foot. My personal routine goes like this:
5:30 – Peloton Ride
6:00 – Get Ready, Podcast Time
8:00 – STARBUCKS RUN & Happy Playlist Listening
9:00 – Start Work
I don’t get Starbucks first thing in the morning any other day, and it just makes me happy.

I mean – I’m a little biased because my bestie wrote the book BUT. All biases aside, I love this book. It’s an absolutely wonderful way to kick start your Monday morning with a cup of encouragement. Get excited about your weekly tasks.
This is another game changer. Get EXCITED about your tasks. If you are an entrepreneur, reignite your passion. If you are dreading going to work and building your business, you are in the wrong business. If you are a 9-5 worker, found a purpose behind your job and fall in LOVE with it. Figure out WHY you are where you are beyond just getting a paycheck. When you love what you are doing, you are more excited to get to it in your week.
Wear something that makes you feel confident.
I always find that when I dress up for Monday, I am much more ready to tackle it head on. If I stay in my jammies or sweatpants, I almost always wish to crawl right back into bed. Get up and get changed right away into your clothes for the day. It’ll keep you from sneaking back for a mid-afternoon nap.
Pick a playlist that makes you HAPPY to jam out to.
I am a lover of HAPPY music. Like drop everything you are doing and DANCE happy music. I’ve been curating a happy summer playlist over the last few weeks and it’s one of those roll your windows down kinda playlists. Make one for yourself (or use one of Spotify’s curated happy playlists) and turn the volume all the way up on Monday morning…and DANCE. Get all your Monday morning jitters out and prepare to FULLY take on the day (+ week, by extension).
