Happy THURSDAY! Today’s video is not a makeup video (don’t worry though – Monday starts the second annual #100DAYSOFMAKEUP challenge. If you aren’t following along on my Facebook page and Instagram for that – WHAT ARE YOU EVEN DOING WITH YOUR LIFE). If you hung out with me on insta over the weekend you’ll know I was in Philly hanging out with my three blogging besties and my hubs! We had SUCH an amazing time and I am beyond sad that we really only had a good 48 hours before we had to come home. Adam and I drove the whole way up to Philly and enjoyed lots of quality time together. There are so many fun things to do in Philly, and we were so pleasantly surprised at how much we were able to squeeze into 48 hours. I’m also including some of my favorite picks from the shopping the N-sale this weekend (like my all-time favorite joggers and the must-have cardigan for fall). Let’s dive into this.
Travel Diaries: Philadelphia, PA Vlog
Day 1: Road Trip + Carnival
If you didn’t know – Adam & I love road trips. Well..I LOVE road trips…because I never drive them. 😉 But I love being a passenger! Adam is a trooper and always drives when we have to go long distances. We use a lot of cool apps to help us make the most out of our trip and I have a pretty bomb playlist we love listening to (it has over 8 hours of music of all genres). We also make sure to take frequent breaks to stretch our legs and alternate between listening to music, listening to podcasts, talking with each other and playing movies in the background. This makes sure we don’t fall asleep when the trips get long AND we never get bored!
When we got to Philly (after many hugs and squeals and excitement from the girls), we all packed back into the car to head over to a local carnival. We had yummy snacks (hello fried Oreos), the boys did skeeball and the house of mirrors, and then everyone did the Ferris wheel (my personal favorite). Adam and I were pretty dang exhausted from our drive so we went to bed pretty much as soon as we got back to the house.
Day 2: Philadelphia + Taylor Swift Concert
This was the day I was MOST excited about. The day before, Erica broke the SURPRISE news that we would be going to the Taylor Swift concert. I have personally been waiting almost a DECADE to go to my very first T.Swift concert and I may just be one of her BIGGEST fans. I actually have tickets to see her in September (a b-day present from my hubby) so the fact that I will be seeing her TWICE in one year is a dream come true for me. FIRST OFF, however, we decided to head to Philly to go sight seeing and take some cute bff pictures. We love any chance we get to have pictures of the four of us together, honestly.
For lunch, we had Honeygrow, a local stir-fry and salad joint. Not only was it adorable, it was also ABSOLUTELY delicious. I am still thinking about the amazing stir fry I had that day. YUM. Then we went and checked out the Liberty Bell (Adam was pretty jealous, not gonna lie) and the other historical sites around Philadelphia. I need to plan another trip JUST to soak in all of the American History that surrounds the city. (Erica – we are coming for ya, ASAP).
Then it was time for T.Swift and well…you should definitely watch the vlog to see the amazing performance that is the Reputation Tour. 15/10 would recommend.
Day 3: King of Prussia Mall + Game Night
So King of Prussia Mall is right behind Mall of America in terms of size and actually has MORE stores to shop. AKA I was in actual heaven. We decided we hadn’t spent enough money on the N-sale already and definitely needed to buy MORE things (I’m practically hemorrhaging $$$ at this point but my fall wardrobe is happy as HECK). Here are the TOP pieces I picked up on this weekend trip:
We also finished our night off with a fun game night while the boys grilled out for us. Then we ended the night watching the new movie Blockers and sitting around the bonfire with sparklers. It was basically the perfect ending to the best 48 hours.
PIN THIS FOR LATER:
I hope you enjoyed this month’s travel vlog and found some fun things to do in the Philadelphia this time of year – and if you have the chance, I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend going to see Taylor Swift’s reputation tour. I was absolutely BLOWN away by the theatrics and recommend it 10/10.
Not everyone is down for a 13 hour road trip for a 48 hour weekend getaway, but if you DO like road tripping (like my hubby and I do), this is a fun one to do. I will admit that I don’t do a lot of the driving (god bless Adam), but when I’m awake, I’m a pretty good passenger and I make KILLER road trip playlists.
it looks like you had a fantastic time! the photos are really nice and fun.
