How To Spend 24 Hours In Nashville, TN

Happy FRI-YAY, y’all!! I’m pretty stoked because today’s post is one of my favorite blog posts to DATE. I just got home from my fabulous mother-daughter adventure and I am feeling SO BLESSED as a daughter! We kicked off our week in Nashville, TN and spent a VERY full 24 hours hanging out in the Country Music Capital of America. There is SO much to do and so many good restaurants to enjoy. SO. If you are looking for the speediest run-down of how to catch all the must-do spots in Nashville – I’ve got you. Let’s dive into this.

How To Spend 24 Hours In Nashville, TN

ITINERARY:

We got in around lunch time – so we started our trip around noon! If you are getting in earlier, you can hit a few awesome breakfast / brunch spots like: Another Broken Egg Cafe, The Pfunky Griddle or the Frothy Monkey. They are SUPER highly rated and very instagrammable. 🙂 

LUNCH: Biscuit Love

This was SO worth the wait. There is typically a 45min – 1hr wait for this local restaurant. It’s home to some of THE. BEST. Biscuits and gravy and (arguably more importantly) the giant Nashville neon sign. It’s a little cramped in here, but you can usually find a little table towards the back and there is seating outside. Besides the cute sign and yummy lunch food – they sell their famous Bonuts. They are fried biscuit balls topped with lemon custard and sitting in a dish of blackberry jam. Talk about YUM. They were AMAZING and so filling. We got a plate of five and together could only finish 3.5. Perfect to share as a dessert before hitting the rest of Nashville.

This is super fun and practically right outside of Biscuit love. There is typically a line to wait to get your picture taken but it’s definitely #worthit. Did you even go to Nashville if you didn’t get a picture here?!? It’s such an inspiring message and by sharing this art, you are supporting mural artists around the country. Definitely worth a stop. 

DESSERT/SNACK/TOURIST: Honky Tonk Highway

This was the only part of the trip where I thought #oneanddone. If you like to drink – this is the strip for you. My mama and I don’t drink, so we were really just enjoying the history and touristy part of Nashville. There are the classic neon signs and cowboy hats. If you are passing by – Savannah’s Candy Kitchen is a great stop to grab a yummy bite of fudge, ice cream, or their famous pralines! Just beware – if you plan on parking directly in downtown, you can expect parking to cost between $20-$30.

VIEW OF NASHVILLE SKYLINE: Pedestrian Bridge

This was SO much fun. I loved doing this bridge. Right outside of the honky tonk highway – you can walk the pedestrian bridge and about halfway over, you can see the full skyline of the city. It’s BEAUTIFUL and definitely worth the walk. Sit on a bench and eat your sweets from Savannah’s or just grab a pretty picture of the city. If nothing else, it’ll help you get your steps in for the day. 😉

PHOTO OP: Tie-Dye Wall, Draper James Wall, I Believe In Nashville Wall

These are more Instagram walls if that is your thing. I always think they’re super fun so why the heck not! These are literally all right next to each other so you aren’t going very far. Literally the same street and alley way. We parked down the side street that the Tie-Dye Wall was on and grabbed some cute shots there. Then we headed over to the Draper James Wall and got some sweet pictures on that bench while we waited in line for the I Believe In Nashville wall. I know these are cheesy – but they’re worth it to grab the picture. Souvenirs have turned into photo ops. 🙂

DINNER: Bartaco

O.M.G. I actually cannot recommend this place for dinner enough. We actually didn’t mean to eat here but our other restaurant closed before we got hungry. Lucky for us though because this turned out amazing. First things first: the staff was incredible. They were so nice and friendly, and were quick with suggestions for our dinner. We tried everything our waitress suggested and it was ALL amazing. We went with street tacos with different fillings and street corn. I will probably be dreaming about the street corn until I die. 10/10. PLUS, it’s on the same street just a few steps way from the photo op walls! 

DESSERT: Christie’s Cookie Co.

Down the same street as our fun walls and dinner stop is Christie’s Cookies! I don’t want to be dramatic – but this was by far the BEST cookie I have ever had in my life. I chose the snickerdoodle (my favorite cookie flavor) and was NOT disappointed. It was soft, full of flavor and so fresh. DEFINITELY grab a cookie here while you are on this street!

HOTEL RECOMMENDATION: Hayes Street Hotel

This was SUCH a sweet little boutique hotel. It was really reasonably priced, too. After parking (all the hotels in the area charge you for parking) it was about $180 / night. We got back to the room after all of our fun activities and enjoyed live music in the lobby and drinks/snacks. The lobby has lots of fun places to sit, a little library nook to read and swinging benches to look at the city. Each room has a tub where you can soak away your cares. The furnishing is mid-century modern and very chic. I loved the old-style phone and local Nashville books on the nightstand. The staff is very nice and accommodating.

We had a jam packed day but it was SO much fun. Everything is fairly close together so you really only need about 10-15 min between each location if you don’t care about parking. It really wasn’t terrible (you can look at it like $30 for a full day of driving around and parking). I kind of fell in love with the beautiful city of Nashville and it’s hospitality. It was an absolute BLAST to speed through the city with my mama. Now I need to bring my hubby back for a weekend getaway and take my time a little more. 🙂
