A couple months ago, my bestie Erica & I decided to plan a surprise weekend getaway trip to see our other best friend Chelsie. She’s been having a tough few months and, being long-distance besties, it had been awhile since all 3 of us had been together. We roped Chelsie’s husband in on the secret and booked our flights. It was seriously the best surprise trip ever! We were there from Thursday-Sunday and it was absolutely wonderful. Let’s jump into our itinerary.

Salt Lake City Girls’ Weekend Getaway

DAY ONE: TRAVEL DAY

We arrived at SLC airport around 12pm and had a super late lunch at Mod Pizza (a super delicious made-to-order pizza place). We then stopped by Target to pick up some matching lounge sets (because #bestfriends) and as many movie snacks as we could fit in the cart. After that, we went to dinner to a SUPER delicious restaurant called Cubbies (HIGHLY RECOMMEND – their sweet potatoes are to DIE for) and headed home to watch a bunch of chick flicks and chat until we all fell asleep.

DAY TWO: PEDICURES / LUNCH

We kicked this morning off with a trip to Starbucks where we got a tiny booth and chatted for an hour and a half. You’d think after 4 years of friendship, we’d all run out of things to talk about but we never have! After Starbucks, I popped into a work meeting while Chels & Erica went to lunch and then they brought me back a sandwich and then we went out to get pedicures! After pedicures, we pop back home, got changed and then found a really cute downtown spot in Lehi, UT to take a few photos together. Once we wrapped up the photo sesh, we went back home to eat an INCREDIBLE brisket Chelsie’s husband spent 10 hours smoking for us. Then it was another round of chick flicks and chatting.

DAY THREE: SALT FLATS / JEEPING

Our busiest day began with a yummy breakfast of lemon raspberry muffins and heading out to the Salt Fields! It was a STUNNING location – with mountains in the background and gorgeous fields of salt. It was absolutely beautiful – even if it WAS cold. We took a million photos together and then went out to lunch at the soup/sandwich place – Cafe Zupas. Once lunch was over – we ran home, changed into comfy clothes and hopped into the jeep! We jeeped up and down the mountains by Chelsie & Dustin’s home in Eagle Mountain. By the time we got home, we were totally exhausted and ready for our last round of movies & chats.
