This month was crazy busy – this year just keeps on trucking along at the dang speed of light. I didn’t get to try a ton of new makeup because I’m in my makeup no-buy season so I’m just using up what I have!! BUT I did get to try a bunch of home stuff and some other fun miscellaneous things. Let’s dive into it.
October 2020 Monthly Obsessions
ONE: ADT SECURITY SYSTEM
This has been one of my favorite additions to our home! I am seriously enjoying the peace of mind that comes with a home security system, and knowing that I have that extra layer of protection (especially around the holidays) is SO nice. TWO: PAPERDOLLS BOUTIQUE SNEAKERS
I’ve worn these shoes non-stop for the last month. Not only are they the most comfortable sneakers I’ve ever owned, they’re SO stinking cute. They make a totally neutral outfit look so fun. They’re the perfect pop of something that isn’t too loud or too bright. The velvet tongue and animal print pattern are just too cute. Check out more of my fave sneakers here.
THREE: VERB ENERGY BAR IN PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE
Verb bars were featured in my monthly obsessions blog post last month – so you KNOW the love is real. LOL. BUT I’m mentioning them again because they’ve come out with a new flavor that I’m IN LOVE with. It’s their pumpkin spice latte flavor and it’s SO yum. They taste like a pumpkin muffin and give you that extra boost you need during the day to get through the mid-afternoon slump.
FOUR: THE AMAZON CUP
Okay. If you missed my EPIC yeti vs amazon cup showdown on stories – then you NEED to go watch it (I saved it to a highlight on IG). My husbands Yeti and my cup battled to the end to see how long they could both keep ice totally frozen during the day. The yeti lost around hour 7 and the amazon cup kept going until hour 11! INSANE. So if you value frozen ice and cold water for under $20 – you know where to snag a cup for yourself (and everyone you love) for Christmas this year.
FIVE: PADDYWAX REED DIFFUSER
OK. I found mine at TJMAXX for WAY less than they are listed here so before you go out and buy these ones for $30 each – check your local TJ’s for that exact same ones for like $10! BUT that being said: these have been SO good in our bathrooms. They’re the perfect scent for a bathroom – clean and fresh without being overpowering. I have seasonal smells in the house during the year, and these don’t interfere with those. Just add a nice, fresh and clean scent to the bathroom.
SIX: EUFY NIGHT LIGHTS
Ok when I visited my bestie Erica earlier this month, she had these lights all over her house. I liked them so much I immediately got on Amazon on the flight home and ordered them for our entire house! They’re the perfect soft night light and they look really classy. This added a finished touch to our home that I didn’t know I needed! I ordered a pack of six and put four upstairs (both bathrooms, my office, the kitchen and the living room) and two downstairs (main living room, laundry room).
SEVEN: CVCALLIGRAPHY STICKERS
I’m OBSESSED with my sister, let’s start with that. But also obsessed with her Etsy shop!! She does darling prints but where she REALLY shines in with her stickers!! This little penguin, the ‘me’ sticker, my Hustle Like A Mother podcast, and a few others are hers. They’re so cute and perfect for cups and laptops!
EIGHT: TARTE CHROME PAINT SHADOW POT
These are SO good. I actually forgot about these for like…over a year. They sat in my drawer. I have two colors – Park Ave Princess + Fire Dancer. They’re the most beautiful metallic shades. They are PERFECT with a little crease shade and then buffed all over the lid. I’m obsessed with them for fast shimmery smokey eyes.
NINE: COLOURPOP PRETTY FRESH TINTED MOISTURIZER + CONCEALER
This duo has been incredible over the last two or three months. I have been looking for the perfect tinted moisturizer and I think this might be it. It has just enough coverage to even skin tone, and the matching concealer covered imperfections without overpowering the skin or making it look caked on. This is my FAVORITE foundation / concealer duo right now.
These lights are amazing. We are SLOWLY turning our home into a smart home one room at a time. So far, we’ve got Google nests + hubs in various rooms of the house so we are all connection, the security system / cameras and now we have smart lights in our bedroom and basement! These are definitely an investment because they are NOT cheap – but we LOVE them! Our goal is to have them in most rooms in our home over the next year or so!
