Midi Dress Summer Style

Happy #fashionwednesday!! I have almost perfected typing one handed now thanks to my littlest human and basically being a walking milk machine. Our swing has also been a lifesaver for getting things done around here, too. Stay tuned for my favorite baby products post coming soon! LOL. BUT today is not about baby (sorry, Jack) – but instead about one of my all-time favorite outfits of the moment. It’s perfect for summer, it’s super soft and comfortable and it’s SUPER inexpensive. Aka: triple threat. Let’s dive into this.

Midi Dress Summer Style

The Dress: Polka Dot Midi Dress

This dress is one of the best purchases I’ve made in a forever!!! It’s jersey cotton material so it is very stretchy and forgiving (hellooooo postpartum body insecurity), and it wears and washes well. I love that I can sit comfortably in it without it poking or squeezing. I obviously am wearing button ups like crazy because #nursing but this dress definitely isn’t limited to those of you who need easy access. It’s just really cute in general. The NEXT best thing about this dress is the price. It’s less than $30 on amazon and comes in SO MANY colors. I’ve actually thought about getting it in black and yellow as well. Amazon can be so hit or miss when it comes to clothing and quality, but this really takes the cake. 

The Denim Jacket: Medium Wash Denim Jacket

Denim jackets are a wardrobe staple. If you don’t have one you love – now is the time to invest. You can wear them all year long and if you get a good quality jacket, it will last you at minimum a decade if not longer. I’ve had this denim jacket since HIGH SCHOOL. Literally since I worked at American Eagle (which is was my FIRST JOB as a teenager…I’m talking 8+ years ago) and you literally cannot tell the age of the jacket. It’s timeless. I actually want to get a few more denim jacket styles just to mix it up in my closet, but really if you get a classic denim jacket silhouette – you shouldn’t need to get a new one for 10 years at the very least. 

The Shoes: Adidas Superstars

These shoes have shown up on my blog OVER AND OVER again. They are AWESOME. I love how classic they are and how comfortable they are. I have been a big sneaker wearer as of late because heels just haven’t been my friend this summer. These instantly make ANY outfit casual and they can be worn with a million different styles. I wear them with athleisure style outfits (think: leggings, oversized tees/sweatshirts, moto jackets), dressier outfits like this one, jeans and button up chambray tops, matching sweat sets, etc. Options are ENDLESS! 

This dress is so fun and can be styled so many fun ways. You can always ditch the sneakers and denim jacket and pair it with little wedges or heels with no jacket for something less casual. The length is also SO key here because if you are someone who doesn’t want a super short dress (summer or not), it’s still super stylish without being crazy short. Midi dresses are one of my FAVORITE lengths lately because of this. 10/10 would recommend.
