Happy #fashionwednesday, everyone!! Today, I’m sharing one of my favorite pieces from my last Stitch Fix box (you can see my full September try on haul here): the grey denim jeans! I have never owned a pair of grey denim before, so I had to really think about all the ways you can style a pair like this. They were a more pricey pair of denim than I’m usually comfortable purchasing, but the quality is REALLY good, they are beyond comfortable and they looked really good on my butt. So. #triplethreat. These are Madewell jeans, and as I looked through my closet I found quite a few different ways to style them so I make sure I get my money’s worth. Let’s dive into this!
What To Wear With Grey Denim Jeans
*disclaimer: these jeans look black in the photos – and on the website, they say black. HOWEVER: in person, they’re really more dark grey vs a true black. So, I’m going to call them grey.
Outfit #1: Grey denim + mustard colored sweater + snakeskin booties
This is an easy, easy outfit! PLUS you can switch up the fuzzy sweater for any color, really. I like the mustard contrast, so that’s what I gravitate towards naturally. But a really fun rust would work here – as well as a nice pastel pink! This is an outfit that just screams FALL to me, so I am all about it. I like that the black booties and the grey denim are monochromatic. This is a very dupe-able outfit from what you already own in your closet!

Outfit #2: Grey denim + white graphic tee + black leather jacket + white sneakers
This is such a fun street style look!! I love the white tee because I’m obsessed with graphic tees these days. They are SO easy to style + super comfortable. This particular one is great because it ties in the white sneakers, and that black leather jacket really sells the street style vibe. Again – this is SUPER easy to recreate at home! This is the most casual of the outfits, but it totally works.

Outfit #3: Grey denim + black turtle neck + black over-the-knee boots
I love the black turtleneck tucked into the jeans. SO chic. These jeans are a 9in high rise so they are SUPER high rise, which makes tucking things in a total no brainer. The black boots are also perfect for this look because it adds to our dressy-chic factor. Even though the denim is distressed, you can easily dress it up with these heels boots and the sleek turtleneck. Add a really cute pair of earrings to add some sparkle and you’re set!

I love that you can wear these jeans super chic and dressy, super casual or a little in between. That is the only reason I was able to justify their $128 price tag. I feel like I will be able to wear these all fall and winter long, and if they hold their shape and continue to look really good on my body, it’s totally worth it to me. They will be a staple piece in my closet for years.

I love this outfit on you so much!! Those boots are cute the cutest.
Black and mustard make such a great combination, and the snake booties are a fun way to throw in a trend. I love these jeans and may have to buy them, as my favorite grey jeans are about to bite the dust. Also love the graphic tee in your second outfit idea!!
I like that this pair of pants is closer to a charcoal/black than a light heathered gray. It makes it easier to style. And the pieces you wore with it for this post are just too cute for words. I also like the different outfit inspiration round-ups you put together as well!
Madewell jeans are WONDERFUL! They are pricey, but they’re a great investment piece for your wardrobe. Gray denim, in particular, can be styled in so many ways. I love how you can dress them up or down.
This denim looks amazing! I need to try these out.
I never know what to wear with grey denim! I love your suggestions.
This is such a cute, fall outfit! I haven’t worn grey jeans since I went through a “phase” in high school. I’ll have to give them a try this year!
