Happy #FASHIONWEDNESDAY!! I know all of my #ootd’s lately have been easy, comfortable and relaxed….because that’s 1. all I fit in right now and 2. it’s what I have been gravitating towards because I am in a ton of lower back pain (thanks #pregnancy) and the very last thing I want to be in is tight and uncomfortable clothing. I thought I’d be a Meghan Markle kind of pregnant woman except I’m not and I live in leggings and sweatshirts. #oh #sorrynotsorry. ANYWAYS – if you want to catch all the details of this outfit plus some easy street style tips & tricks – read on. *ps: I linked up this exact top but the pants and shoes are currently out of stock – so I linked similar styles to those!!*

Relaxed Street Style: Long Sleeved Tee + Velvet Tennis Shoes
What I’ve got on:
A long sleeved striped tee (comfortable + soft)
Frayed jeans (comfortable + trendy)
Velvet sneakers (comfortable + cute)
This outfit is WAY EASY to put together. This is a long sleeved white and black striped tee that laces up the front and showcases my cute lil growing bump. This particular top is a Target maternity find and is super affordable. Any striped tee would work in place of it, and as it’s still pretty chilly, I’d definitely recommend long sleeves or 3/4 length sleeves. If I were putting this outfit together again, I would add a black vest to this look because that would be DARLING, I just don’t happen to have one on hand.
The frayed jeans are from PinkBlush, and one of my favorite maternity styles. They are an over-the-bump style so they fit really comfortably, and they have the frayed ends that became super popular at the end of last summer. They bring this look into “spring” because of the length and style. They aren’t DARK but they aren’t super light, which make them the perfect color to transition from winter to spring.
These shoes were $9 Gap finds. Literally GOLD in the clearance bin a few weeks ago. I’m completely obsessed with them. They are beyond comfortable because they are flat (I’ve pretty much given up on heels at this point), and they have really flexible outer fabric. It isn’t a rigid shoe, so walking in them is really easy to do. My hips and back are super sore now at 21 weeks, so anything I can do to help reduce the strain on them is KEY.
Relaxed street style tips:
-
Dress for comfort first.
-
Ditch the heels.
-
Find soft fabrics.
Street style and athleisure type style is so dang popular because it looks put together without being put together. You can wear comfortable articles of clothing without sacrificing style which is the ultimate fashion hack. The first tip would be to find things you are comfortable in first and foremost. This style doesn’t work if you aren’t comfortable. Think: long sleeved tees, sweatshirts, sweaters, etc.
The second tip would be to ditch the heels. Don’t even think about them. This style THRIVES on tennis shoes and other flat soled shoes. I love wearing my Adidas superstars, my nike frees and my Converse for different street style looks. Classic, easy to walk in and when styled right – can still be real head turners.
The last tip here would be to find SOFT fabrics. The fabric of the tee I’m wearing is SO soft it’s ridiculous. It’s like wearing a blanket almost. I love that I feel warm and cozy, but it’s still form-fitting and flattering. Go for THOSE kinds of fabrics and ditch the rough and scratchy materials like denim. They have their place for sure – but they aren’t the MOST comfortable fabric you can find.

Relaxed styles are quickly overtaking my closet and it’s been really fun to kind of break out of my comfort zone and find outfits that aren’t solely there to look good. The bigger I get, the more I just want to be comfortable!!

Love this casual outfit. I love wearing comfy clothes most days and I am not even pregnant. Comfy shoes are a lifesaver too. Hopefully, your feet won’t start swelling because then even tennis shoes will be uncomfortable.
This is so casual chic. I love the stripes girl and the comfiness is everything
You are so adorable! Did you cut your hair recently?! It looks so good 🙂
