As a busy mom of 2, I have never loved a trend more than athleisure. The ability to look stylish AND comfortable while chasing my little guys around is the best fashion trend to come around since high waisted denim. 😉 I have carefully curated my athleisure style over the last few years and now I’m going to share with you HOW you can put a perfect athleisure outfit together. Let’s jump into it.


Mom Outfit Anatomy: Athleisure Styling

The basic foundation of the outfit is comprised of a few key pieces: your leggings, your top, your sneaker, your jewelry and your bag. The key is to have as many basic, interchangeable pieces as possible and then a few key pops of trend or color.

STANDARD: black leggings, cropped sweatshirt, white sneaker, crossbody belt bag, baseball cap, gold chain, and small gold hoops.

UPSTYLED: black leggings (or bike shorts), long t-shirt, denim jacket optional (I vote yes in the spring/fall), high top sneakers, messy bun, gold hoops

The thing to note here – there are key pieces of the outfit that stay the same, and just a few that mix/match. The leggings are the same, the jewelry is the same, the shoes can be the same (I have a few pairs of sneakers that I rotate between). The main difference is your top – whether you go for a cropped hoodie or tee, or an oversized sweatshirt or tee, either work as long as you’re comfortable. I also switch up if I grab my belt back or a small backpack, and if I opt for braids or a messy bun or a baseball cap.

The main thing to remember? Comfort is key and dressing up your athleisure is totally personal preference. I love the elevation gold jewelry brings to the table!
