HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY! I hope you are spending time with you fam and enjoying the fun holiday weekend. I had the best weekend with my fam and today, we are grilling out for the third day in the row #whoops #sorrynotsorry. This is America, after all! What is a holiday weekend in the summer without hot dogs, hamburgers and patriotic smokey eyes? This has been one of my favorite looks I’ve done in a long, long time because I have been living in minimal makeup and nude looks lately. That is summer for me, typically, but it was so fun to get out of my comfort zone and into bold smokey eyes and bright blue shadows. I hope that you enjoy this look and a peek into my Memorial Day weekend. <3 Enjoy!

Memorial Day Recap:

What we did Saturday + #ootd:

Saturday, we had a big cookout with some friends and family to celebrate the kick off of the long weekend! We had a variety of yummy BBQ food like hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, baked beans and watermelon. It was so nice to get the grill out and hang out with my family. I wore my absolute FAVORITE three quarter length teeshirt dress. It is so comfortable and flattering. I love that I can wear it with so many different things. I can accessorize with literally any other color. It’s so great. I grabbed my best red sneakers from Target ($12 Keds dupes), my white jean jacket (for PURELY aesthetic reasons – it was 95 degrees aka there was no way I was wearing a jacket) and my cute little blue bag from Charming Charlie.

What we did Monday + #ootd:

On ACTUAL Memorial Day, we all got up bright and early and my dad & hubby ran our church Memorial Day 5K and my mama, sister and I all walked it. I am all for exercise and getting moving but I don’t run. We had a great time walking the path and burning off some of our cookie cake from the night before. #whoops. After that, we all went home, took quick showers and got ready for the church picnic!! We all met back up with picnic blankets and more BBQ food. We got to talk and laugh with some dear friends and I also got to hang out with my new BFF – a ball python who’s name I forget right now. She was SO beautiful. Then, Adam and I went home, took a two hour nap, and took another walk outside (until the heat got to us again). It was such a wonderful day with friends and family, remembering those who give their lives every single day to keep us safe.

  1. Gorgeous! I’m usually not a fan of bold colors like that, but the blue shadow is gorgeous! The whole look (hair too) is on fire! What colors of the cream lip stains did you use?

  2. Omg, blue is one of my favorite eye shadow colors and you’ve just reminded and encouraged me to do a blue smokey eye. I can’t get over how beautiful you look wearing it!
