We are ~obsessed~ with the new . Not only because Jack LOVES the show (and let’s be honest, so does mom) but because we LOVE a good independent play toy! This toy encourages Jack to recreate his favorite scenes from the show, and allows him to make entirely new scenes up with his own imagination. It’s a #momWIN.

: #momwin Toddler Toy Review

When I am choosing toys to stock in our home, I have a few criteria I am always looking for:

  1. Doesn’t take up a HUGE amount of space
  2. Fosters imagination & independent play
  3. Has recognizable creatures / characters
  4. Will not be a play + forget type of toy

SO – you can imagine how excited I was to get the new – it literally checked ALL of my boxes.

The playset is the perfect size – it can slide right in Jack’s toy cubbies, he can easily pick it up and move it around the house to wherever he is playing (or watching Bluey), and there aren’t any complicated pieces that cause him to get frustrated if he can’t click/lock/move something into place. Everything is super intuitive and it works really well for little hands.

Imaginative play and independent play are two top priorities in our house. I intentionally choose toys that Jack can use his own imagination with or that have multiple ways of play, and that allow him to play independently. Because he knows the show, he already has some ways of playing with the set, but he also LOVES to make new scenes for the characters and that is always fun to watch. He will also play in our living room while the Bluey tv show is playing and play alongside the show.

I try to choose recognizable creatures and characters so that Jack can create ways to play with things he knows and understands – and what’s better or easier to understand than Bingo and Bluey!? He LOVES these characters and was understandably THRILLED to open up a toy with two of his faves inside.

I try really hard not to get toys that Jack will play with one time and then forget about. Because he knows these characters and he regularly watches the show, he often reaches for and asks about this particular toy. You know your kids best – but if they already love Bluey, this will be a great one to keep in the playroom!
