HAPPY FRI-YAY! It’s the last Friday of August…like HOW. I think this every time I get to a monthly obsessions blog post. I work on them all month, but when it comes time to actually hit publish…I’m shocked every time. How on earth does time move so quickly? PLUS I feel like it’s in hyper speed now that I have a baby. Time, if you’re listening, pretty please slow down. This month is FULL of fun goodies – I had the WORST time picking only 10 things for this month. Let’s dive into this!
August 2019 Monthly Obsessions
Briogeo Be Gentle Be Kind Banana + Coconut Nourishing Superfood Shampoo + Conditioner
My hair has never felt so good!! I am OBSESSED. Also – this combo smells absolutely mouthwatering. My hair is sooooo soft and hydrated after using this and I’m so picky with my shampoo and conditioner. I have really finicky hair that damages easily due to my constant bleaching over the years so I really need a gentle but effective duo. This is exactly that!
Pinxav Diaper Rash Ointment
GUYS. GUUUUUYS. If you have babies, you need this. Even if you don’t have babies, you need this. It’s a do-all salve. From their website, here are the Pinxav uses:
Babies (Diaper Rash) Pinxav provides a protective coating for a baby’s bottom. Daily application to clean, dry skin will guard against and help relieve diaper rash.
Active Adults (Rashes and Chapped Skin) Pinxav creates a lubricating and antibacterial barrier for high performance athletes such as cyclists, surfers, and runners to prevent chafing and infection.
Seniors (Protection) Pinxav provides relief and helps prevent against dry, cracked skin. Use over sun-block for extra protection from sunburn. Use to prevent rashes and to soothe minor skin irritations.
Homebound (Rashes) Pinxav helps provides comfort to those who are less active and will help protect areas exposed to dampness caused by possible incontinence.
Everyday Uses Pinxav can also be used for everyday first aid to protect skin from minor scrapes, burns, sunburn, acne and other skin irritations.
We have used it for diaper rashes for Jack (they’re gone the next morning almost every time) and baby and adult acne. It works wonders for all 3!!
Dermalogica Age Bright Spot Fader + Age Bright Clearing Serum
I have been using this stuff in combination with the IPL Treatment I received a few weeks ago. I have definitely seen a difference in my acne scarring and hyperpigmentation. It doesn’t necessarily stop the active acne, but I do think it fades the pigmentation left behind much faster than it fades on its own.
Taylor Swift “Lover” Album
I am OBSESSED with this album. I always love everything Taylor puts out (hardcore Tswift fan here) but this album just makes me happy. The whole album is happy. Reputation was darker (still loved it) – and this one is light and fun. The mood is definitely pastel and bright like the colors of the music videos and album art. If you haven’t listened yet – I highly recommend. At least start with I Forgot You Existed, Paper Rings and Cornelia Street.
Flesh Beauty Liquid Foundation
I’ve talked extensively about this foundation HERE – and my opinion stands. I love it! I think it does a great job lasting throughout the day and it is such a great brand. Click the link above to read more about it!
Covergirl Trublend Undercover Concealer
This concealer is AWESOME! I was going to replace my Colourpop No Filter concealer with my last order, but then this came in the mail and I decided to try it out instead. It is a great dupe for Shape Tape as well (just a little less hydrating) and I really like it! It’s got a nice large doe foot applicator and it doesn’t settle into my lines.
Dr. Scholl’s Grey Sneakers
It’s just that these are SO FREAKING CUTE. I have been a huuuuge lover of Dr. Scholl’s over the last year. If you are under the impression that Dr. Scholl’s exclusively makes shoes for nurses – you are WRONGGGG. They have insanely upped their game when it comes to shoe styles and they have totally stylish shoes that you’ll love (I promise). My leopard print mules I’ve worn all summer long are from them, as are my platform espadrilles and my favorite slides. For all, these grey sneakers are going to be on repeat in my closet. I already can’t stop wearing them. 10/10.
Motif Luna Electric Breast Pump
I have been using this pump exclusively since I brought Jack home. I have talked about it before on IG, but it gets another honorable mention today!! It is so quiet, it’s lightweight, easy to transport and super easy to clean. I like that I can express most of my breastmilk within 10 minutes so I’m not chained up to a wall for a long period of time and it’s easy to do when Adam is bottle feeding the baby.
My Sister’s Closet Boutique
I am ALWAYS looking for cute little boutiques to shop at. I came across MSC because one of my best friends Chelsie (from Hey There Chelsie) works there. I took a peek at their new fall arrivals and was SOLD. The three pieces I received were this adorable animal print dress (SO FLATTERING and this print is super popular right now), this stunning yellow lace dress that I can wear through the end of summer AND into fall. It looks adorable with both sandals AND booties, and these adorable corduroy scalloped pants. I didn’t realize the pants were wide legged until I got them – but I actually LOVE it. It’s way out of my comfort zone but so stinking cute for fall. Use code TAYLOR10 for 10% off your order!!

Butter London Natural Goddess Palette
I have been LOVING this palette. It’s SO nice. The colors are really pretty for transitioning into fall, and they’re creamy and buttery to the touch. They blend beautifully and they would look good on a variety of skin tones. The metallics really stand out on the skin which I love. Overall, it’s a really nice, slim palette that is easy to transfer and would work to create a variety of looks on the eye.
I love Monthly Obsessions. Especially since I’ve been able to experiment with more beauty products lately!! Let me know what you are loving this month in the comments below.
