Happy #beautymonday, everyone!! My hubby and I have been weekend getaway fanatics the last month and a half from going to Louisiana to see his fam in February, to heading down to Arkansas to see our friends from college this past weekend, to my upcoming trip with the Humane Society to check out Project Chimps in Georgia – I am trying to get all of my last minute travel in before I enter my third trimester and traveling gets a little bit more difficult. SO. In light of all the fun travel I have going on – I wanted to share with you an updated travel makeup bag. I shared a little preview of this on my IG stories a few weeks ago but I thought I’d break it down for ya AND share some links so you can make sure you’ve got everything you need for your next weekend trip. Check it out below:
What’s In My TRAVEL Makeup Bag
Skincare:
I’m going to start with skincare and then move into makeup because a proper skincare routine ESPECIALLY while travel is beyond important. You either have recycled car air (gross), stale airplane air (+ a million free floating germs from the mouth holes of other people) OR train/subway air which is also just…ew. AKA none of that makes for particularly GLOWING skin. SO. Make sure you aren’t skimping just because you are on vacation.

Makeup:
Now it’s time for the fun stuff! This is a pretty paired down version of what I do everyday. Typically, if I am traveling, I don’t bring false lashes. It can be a hassle depending on the location and weather. For example – if I’m at the beach, absolutely no lashes. BUT if it’s NYFW, naturally, I would wear lashes. But for MOST trips (especially these weekend getaways to see friends + family), I just don’t bother with them and trust my mascara will do it’s job.

PIN THIS FOR LATER:
When it’s out in a list like this it looks like a lot, I totally get it. BUT – surprisingly – all of the makeup into a little travel makeup case, brushes included. My favorite (+ you’ll have seen it in last month’s monthly obsessions) is my CaseUp travel makeup case. It’s got a hard back so my stuff doesn’t break, but it has a million pockets and a dedicated brush pocket to hold all of my stuff. It’s REALLY nice and really easy to use. It isn’t bulky but holds everything I need it to. There are tons of travel bags out there like this and it makes it easy to travel light (but not TOO light). For my skincare, I use a separate bag simply because I like to also pack my toothbrush, contact solution, etc. in the same bag so toiletries are easy to find.
PRO TIP: Try to grab travel size products when you can while packing (like my mini glow toner)! It saves space, and ensures you can bring all your favorite products.

cute & little
Thanks for breaking it all down! I definitely think skincare is important with all that gross stuff floating around!
Keeping a healthy skin car routine is super important, so I always pack my favorite products. I love the Garnier SkinActive Refreshing Cream Cleanser, specially because it protects my skin while leaving it clean and smooth. Great tips!

Really great breakdown girly! These are quality travel essentials and tips for on the go.
That is the most perfect travel bag for your makeup! Love it and love your picks too!
I’m about to do a lot of travel soon and you’ve inspired me to look up some of these products!
Hydrating facial spray is sooooo key, esp in this winter weather. I’m always spraying mine all the time.
Love how organized you are! Traveling with good skincare is a definite must– especially when the weather is SO dry.
I’m with you are prefer to leave false lashes at home when traveling! Don’t get me wrong I love the look of them, but agree that when I’m lounging beach or poolside I’m not too worried about fussing with my lashes!
Cheers x
