Happy TUESDAY, friends!! Today’s post is all about my top five favorite perfumes – which is a big deal because I’m NOT a perfume lover. My husband can attest to the fact that for most of our relationship – the only times I’ve worn perfume were when we first started dating (I was still trying to impress), our wedding day, and special date nights. Most perfumes give me a headache and I just don’t like a lot of them. So when I looked over at my perfume collection the other day, I was SHOCKED to realize that I had not one….not two….but FIVE perfumes I’ve been constantly rotating between lately. Like on not-special-occasion days. Just normal I-want-to-smell-good days. I figured since they have apparently changed my life – I should share them with you in case you are someone looking for a good scent that isn’t overwhelming and is perfect for everyday wear. Let’s dive into this.
SHOP THE POST:
Top 5 Perfumes To Try (if you aren’t that into perfume)!
One: Kate Spade Walk On Air
Fragrance Notes:
-
Top: linden blossom, maiden’s hair fern, solomon’s seal, Calabrese bergamot, tunisian neroli
-
Heart: lily of the valley, magnolia grandiflora, Egyptian jasmine, narcissus absolute orpur
-
Base: crinum lily, white iris, violet leaf absolute orpur
This is the one I asked for for Christmas this year! I honestly can’t remember the last time I wanted a perfume for a holiday or birthday….I just didn’t feel like I wore them enough to warrant it. But as I was browsing through Ulta a few months ago – I came across this scent and feel immediately in love. It’s a light and fresh and just makes me smell like a ~ woman ~. It’s an Adam favorite, too!
Two: Kate Spade Truly Gracious
Fragrance Notes:
-
Top – bamboo leaves
-
Heart – green sap
-
Base – green musk
This is one I got at the beginning of last year and am SO glad I did. The best way I can describe this scent is fresh cut grass. I love how light and airy it is, which a very earthy undertone. It lasts all day on me and isn’t too fancy for every day wear. It’s great to thrown on no matter what the occasion is.
Three: Taylor Swift Wonderstruck
Fragrance Notes:
-
Top – sweet raspberry, fresh green tea
-
Heart – sweet vanilla, sunbathed honeysuckle
-
Base – smooth amber
This perfume really takes me back because this is what I wore all throughout college! I still have a bottle half full and I still love it because it’s what I wore when I was first dating Adam and what I wore on our wedding day. It’s much less light and airy and is more floral but not sickeningly so. It doesn’t last as long as the Kate Spade ones do but it leaves a nice quiet aroma once it fades. I’m actually not sure if you can buy this at most local retailers anymore because it was released in 2011 – but you can still find it on Amazon.
Four: Physicians Formula Butter Paradise
NOTE: I couldn’t find the fragrance notes for this, but it’s the exact scent of their butter bronzer! This was also a limited edition box – but I believe Physicans Formula still has some in stock. They will probably go quickly though!
This is my go-to summer smell. It smells like coconuts and the beach and like the Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer if you use that!! They took that heavenly and delicious smell and bottled it up and I am SO glad they did. I love this smell. It’s not sweet at all – it’s much for summery and rich. It lasts all day like the smell of sunscreen (which I personally love) and makes me feel like I’m at the beach. I would never wear this any other season than summer – so I like to save it for that time of year!
Five: Marc Jacobs Daisy
Fragrance Notes:
-
Top: violet leaves, wild strawberries
-
Heart: violet petals, jasmine bouquet
-
Base: musk, vanilla infusion
I love the smell of Daisy. It’s the perfume my mom used to wear so I always feel a little nostalgic when I put it on. I love how light and floral it is without being overwhelmingly sweet. It doesn’t last on me like the Kate Spade perfumes, either, but like the Taylor Swift perfume, leaves a quiet hint of a scent once it fades and I really like that. I don’t mind when perfumes don’t stay pungent all day long.
I found that these perfumes 1. don’t give me a headache 2. last a good amount of time on my skin and 3. have me reaching for them over and over again. I even asked for Walk On Air for Christmas this year…which was a BIG deal for me. I am pretty excited to start dipping my toes into the world of perfumes and trying more scents to see if any of them stick with me and make an impression.
Do you have a favorite perfume? What is your signature scent?
The Body Shop White Musk is my everyday go to – for years I wore Victoria by Victoria Secret but they discontinued it – and I’ve always loved Lauren by Ralph Lauren.
