Happy #fashionwednesday! I’m bringing you another SUPER easy outfit to style for the winter feat. my favorite distressed sweater trend we love SO much on this side of the internet. I love the mix of the dark distressed sweater with the distressed denim. Fall/Winter can be hard to style and the end of November gets tricky because the weather can be SO unpredictable. This is a really good outfit for the chillier days because you can easily layer a jacket overtop or a cute blanket scarf. Let’s dive into this.
The Easiest Winter #OOTD
The right sweater.
The right sweater is super important here because that is the basis of your outfit, right? Everyone has different body types, so dressing to flatter yours is super important. I chose a cropped sweater to highlight my high waisted jeans. It made me feel really pretty and healthy and stylish. Other options would be oversized sweaters to highlight legs, tighter sweaters to highlight bust or waist.
The right denim.
Contrary to popular belief, not just any denim will work when it comes to pairing this outfit together. In my opinion, the days for lighter denim are over for the season and it’s time to bring out our mid-wash and dark-wash denim. You also have the rise option. I always tend to go for high rise always – because it is the most comfortable and flattering to me. If you go for a crop sweater in the winter, I’d say definitely go for a high rise jean because you don’t want an exposed belly when it’s 30 degrees out.
The right shoes.
I am a HUGE fan of tall boots when it comes to fall and winter weather. Whether its thigh high or over-the-knee boots, doesn’t matter. I think riding boots are chic and go with so many different outfits – including cute chunky sweaters and distressed denim. Alternatives to this would be cute booties (check out my bootie guide here), or velvet slides.
The right accessories.
Adding some cute accessories really make an outfit. Whether you are adding a fun hat, a cute watch, a statement bag – accessories can take it to the next level. I am a big fan of easy when it comes to styling – my little #ootd necklace is kind of hidden by the distressing but it’s such a sweet piece to add to any outfit. If I were styling this outfit again, I would definitely add a pop of color with a bag.
This outfit is kind of a no brainer, and sometimes it’s all about the little things that take an outfit to the next level.
