Happy #fashionwednesday, friends! I’m so excited for this post because it has been a HOT SECOND since I’ve shown you how to style a classic item three different ways. I think it’s SO important to be able to use items in your closet several different ways because who has the time (and the $$$, quite frankly) to keep buying new outfits all the time without re-wearing the ones we’ve already got, amright?! SO. TODAY. We are going to be styling my absolute FAVORITE accent piece: the CHAMBRAY TOP. I have about 3 or 4 classic chambrays in different colors because they are my favorite transitional piece for spring and fall – but they definitely have their place in the summertime, too. Keep reading to see how I mastered these three easy ties so you can rock your chambray top three ways this season! Let’s do this.

The Classic Chambray Top Tied THREE WAYS
THE WAIST KNOT
This one is super easy because all you’ve gotta do is tie this in a single knot at your waist. ALSO, note: I like to always roll my sleeves up – so you will see this in each look. I love this when I want to make my waist look smaller but I don’t want to wear a belt. This gives a small-town country kinda vibe, too, so it looks really cute with summery dresses – especially eyelet lace. I also like to pair this type of look with jumpsuits and other one-piece outfits. They just add a nice waist dimension, imo!
Here’s how to get the look:
THE ACCESSORY TIE
I call this the accessory tie because this is the look you do when you wanna feel stylish and put together but you don’t actually want to wear another layer. This is also the look I do when I know I’m going out and feel like it’s going to get chilly later on or I’m going to the movie theater and I know I will be freezing at some point during the night and need to being another layer without overloading my outfit. That was a crazy run on sentence I am so sorry to all of my English teachers. But for real – this is the layering MVP.
Here’s how to get the look:
THE DOUBLE KNOT
This is my favorite go-to look because I feel like it goes with so many things. Not only does this look adorable with this t-shirt dress – it also looks amazing with t-shirts and shorts, jumpsuits, summer dresses, maxi dresses..etc. It really goes with everything. It’s SO easy to do, but I feel like I never see anyone tie their chambrays like this. It’s a unique way to tie this up so that your waist is accentuated without actually tying it around your whole waist. I actually think it is a little bit cooler because it doesn’t suck the fabric directly to your skin. I feel like it lets your body breathe a little bit more and I don’t sweat really at all with this style – if that’s something that worries you.

PIN THIS FOR LATER:
I hope that you guys love this classic chambray top tied THREE WAYS. I think this piece is absolutely perfect for all seasons – but this light denim wash chambray is really perfect for summer. I tie it up with so many different tops and outfits and I feel like if you are looking for a piece that really is versatile and easy to style – this is it. They are also so inexpensive for a classic piece to add to your closet. I’ve had this one since high school (gasp) and I gave it to my sister for a while and just recently got it back and remember why I bought it in the first place! For reference, I literally purchased this chambray top SIX YEARS AGO and it is still in style and looks almost brand new. Thanks for that, American Eagle.
Let me know how you feel about this look in the comments below – which way to tie is YOUR favorites?!
Love how you styled this 3 ways, particularly the last two options 😉
