Welcome back to another #BEAUTYMONDAY! YAY! Today I am going to be showcasing my latest Sephora splurge. I am going to be swatching my new Buxom eyeshadows and Milk lipstick. I chose these brands specifically because I haven’t really had a lot of experience with either brand. I have my tried and true companies but I wanted to branch out just a bit in case I was missing out on some diamonds-in-the-rough. And boy, was I. So, now that I’ve kept you waiting for twenty years at least, let’s go ahead and jump right into this sucker.
Buxom Eyeshadows + Milk Lipstick
Buxom Eyeshadow Customizable Palette.
Originally, I was going to get the Anastasia Beverly Hills z-palette with some single shadows. Then I saw this and was completely intrigued. Plus, it was a better deal for the price. I made a vow to only choose colors that I didn’t own because no matter how gorgeous that taupe lavender shade is, I already have three. So that ruled out all nude colors and mauves and maroons. Basically anything that came in Naked 1, 2 or 3. I knew I wanted some peacock greens, navy and hot pink. That left 3 empty slots and I chose a rich chocolate-brown (THATS NOT NUDE I DO NOT OWN THAT COLOR GET OFF MY BACK), an emerald-green and a gorgeous metallic gold. I’ve swatched all of them for you and am giving my honest opinions.
Top Shade: Backstage Pass
This is a beautiful shimmering lapis blue color and is extremely bright. I was expecting a more navy color than I received. It is fairly pigmented, but I don’t know if it is quite as pigmented as I would have liked. I first applied primer, and then the color with my finger. It does have some shimmer, which I enjoy and it is a very pretty blue. I bought this to wear underneath my eye as a pop of color. It will work perfectly for. B+.
Middle Shade: Prenup
This shadow is a gorgeous green. It is light and bright and shimmery. Perfect for the inner corner to make your eyes pop, on the waterline for a hint of color. It again, was not the shade of green I expected when ordering this shade. I was expecting a deeper green, more of a true emerald than a grass-green. But that is the risk you run when you order online! I need to use two finger swipes to get it to show up to the desired opaqueness I wanted, so it could definitely be more pigmented. B-.
Bottom Shade: Haute Couture
I really like this brown in theory. It is the color that I thought I was buying, so that was good. A deep rich brown with a hint of shimmer. It applied nicely on my arm, but was kind of patchy when I went to apply it on my eye. I really had to blend it out to make it look presentable. In the end it was a nice color, but I feel like I kind of needed to work too hard to make it that way. Slightly disappointed. C.
Top Shade: Party Girl
This shade is so pretty. It is a bright fuchsia. It blended well on my arm and on my eyes. It was highly pigmented and it was buttery and soft. I am totally in love with the shade. I have mauves and lavenders but I needed a really hot pink that I could use on the center of my eye for a pop of exciting color. I wanted to step out of my nude eye comfort zone. This 100% fit the bill. A+.
Middle Shade: Twilight Tryst
This color seriously confused me. Scroll back up and look at it in the palette. That is SO not what I ordered. I thought that I was going to get a deep peacock green/teal color and I got…..purple? If I move my arm back and forth, I can see the peacock green but for the most part that is straight purple. Like. dark purple. Which is cool. I didn’t have that color and it looks amazing with my green eyes but .. Dear Buxom, Can you be a little more transparent with what your colors actually are? Sincerely, a very confused makeup junkie. That being said, it blended out well, and was very pigmented. If I had chosen a dark purple, it would have gotten an A+. But I chose peacock green. So. A-? Not sure.
Bottom Shade: 24KT Stilettos
This gold is incredible. This is by far the best shade in the entire palette. I barely needed any on my finger to have it show up pigmented and sparkly on my arm. When I went to put it on my eye, I took a bit of shadow on a damp brush and couldn’t believe how easily it glided on. The formula is buttery and soft and blendable. A+, Buxom!
Overall, I think this palette received a B+ rating. Obviously, I chose these colors myself and even though they are from the same company, the formulas varied. You may have more or less luck depending on which colors you choose.

Milk Matte Lipstick
Guys. I’ve had my eyes on Milk products for a while now. They have beautiful, simplistic packaging and they are eco-friendly. My weakness. When I found this color, Name Drop, I fell in love and had to have it. It was a bright orange-red (which is the most flattering red for my skin tone) and I needed it, ok? Ok. Good.
The company claims “opaque color in one swipe” so I put that to the test. And they passed. With flying colors. I mean seriously. A+ all around, Milk. Well done.
I love the size of the lipstick. It is “lip” sized. So often, the lipsticks are too large and I end up having to use a lip brush to get precise application. Well who has the time for that? I want to be able to swipe and go. And this, my friends, allowed me to do just that. I only needed one swipe on the top and bottom of my lips to coat my mouth sufficiently. I have never been more impressed with a lipstick actually. A+, A+, A+.
So, my fellow makeup lovers, there you have it. My latest Sephora splurge and all my thoughts about them! New shadows and a fabulous new lipstick that will change your life. Have you tried anything recently that you just LOVE? I am always looking for new things to try out.

They are dreamy!

I am hooked! I want more of their products!!!
I love Sephora and these colors look so amazing! I’ll have to go and check them out!!!
Definitely do!!!
I love that the Milk lipstick was thin enough for you to just swipe on! I have crazy tiny tips so I always have to use a brush to apply lipstick. I might have to check this out just for that!
I haven’t tried any MILK products yet but those Buxom shadows cracked me up – especially that Twilight LIAR haha. I’ll have to give MILK a better look next time I’m in Sephora. It strikes me as that “no makeup makeup” which, for the beauty addict in me… doesn’t really scream my name, but that lippie is pretty and people are loving the holographic highlighter they make!
Twilight Liar is correct. I actually swatched it twice because I was sure I did something wrong LOL
Lip sized lipsticks should be standard. I mean – I hear ya! Sheesh with me trying to apply and looking like a hot mess. I love that aspect of these!
That part was SO nice!!!
The example looks are so stunning!! I love the look of using the vibrant colors to line under the eye! Gorgeous! And that lipstick pigmentation is amazing! I need to try that for sure!
I love the way you do the eyeshadow! I never would have known it would turn out that way. I also like the way your pictures school!
Thank you!!!!!
Oh my goodness, those eye shadows!!! Love this! Thanks for sharing!
What nice pigment the eye shadows have!
Beautiful eyeshadows! I really like the blue, green, and pink. They look great for when you really want to make a statement with your makeup.
So true!!! Perfect for pops of color!!!!!
I love that you can create your own palette with buxom–but all the shades I love are never all available! Great post!
These both look so amazing! I love the colors.
xoxo, Jenny
I love that Milk Lipstick!
LOVE this post! I am a major Buxom fan so will have to check these out! I especially love how you shared the different looks you created with these products!
Thanks girl!!!!
I can’t blame you for buying these items! The palette has awesome shades and I like how you combined the colors in your pictures. The looks are amazing. That lippie is great too!
So true! Thanks Amanda!
The shadows look great but I see what you mean by turning out different to what you expected. The milk lipstick though looks super lush!
Those colors are so pretty! I am much more on the neutral side of things when it comes to makeup, but some of these colors I think would be lovely!
I’m usually all neutral too!! This was a stretch for me 🙂
Great blog post!
I love the blue and green in this palette.
What great colors! The milk lipstick looks great. I’m pretty neutral on a normal basis but these would really allow me to brighten up.
I cannot get over how stunning the closeups of your eyes are! Stunning shadows. I have wanted to give Milk a try simply due to their packaging, and I’m so happy to hear that they are awesome! Can’t wait to try.
You will have to let me know how you like that brand, Amber!!!
I am loving all of these different shades. Beautiful colors in this collection.
So true, Robin!!
That purple/green had me confused too! I love the shade though, regardless. Great stuff.
It is definitely still a beautiful shade and I will get use out of it! Just took me off guard! lol!
I really need to try the Milk brand – I’ve had my eye on it for a while!
I love that you went for such fun, vibrant shades!
La Belle Sirene
Thanks Courtney!! Those are the best!
I have never used those colors and I love the examples you have with the gold in the inner corner of the eye. I’ll have to try it.
I hope you like it!
I’m loving the gold. It’s such fun to pick out just the right colors and even veer away from your usual colors. Thanks for the recommendation for the milk lipstick. I’ll have to check it out. 🙂
YOu’ll have to let me know what you think!!!!
Omg just love the eye shadow!!! Then again I think it’s almost impossible not to love something coming from Sephora!
SO TRUE Courtney!
I’ve been hearing a lot about Milk lately! I’ll have to stop by Sephora sometime and pick up a shade or two.
So in love with Milk lipstick, it looks cute and its colour is lovely <3 .
These are wonderful unusual colours. I love them! I need to branch out a little from my “nude” palette.
I needed to do the same thing 🙂
Awesome review. I’ve now ordered my very own Milk lipstick after reading your review because I’ve been so intrigued by their brand for awhile now and I just needed an excuse to try it.
YAY!! Which color did you go with??
Taylor I love the rich and colorful hues of the Buxom Eyeshadow Customizable Palette! It’s awesome! I just received a year’s worth supply of makeup so it might take me awhile before I can try the Buxom brand. But thanks for sharing!
No problem Cara!! 🙂
Lovely colors! I just love how a new lipstick can make you feel fresh and even more beautiful.
SO true!!
Those eyeshadow colors are blowing my mind! I am loving that bright pink! I don’t have that shade in my collection yet.
I like the selection of colors that they have! This looks like a palette that I would buy.
I really like it too! Plus, you can build your own palette!!!
