Happy THURSDAY, friends! Last Thursday, I posted the first of FOUR reviews of the four morphe x jaclyn hill vault collection. I kicked it off with the Dark Magic palette and you can find my review + video here. Today, we have NUMBER TWO of four and we are going to be using the Armed & Gorgeous palette. The colors are what fall dreams are made of and I am LIVING for the burnt oranges, yellows and olive green tones right now. I keep thinking if I just dress and act like it’s fall then it will magically change the weather from 91 degrees to 68 degrees but it hasn’t worked so far. I’ll keep you updated. ANYWAYS: This was the other palette I was really excited about because of the fact that I knew I would wear these shades all fall long. They are beautiful, rich tones and they’re right up my alley. I love the halo look I created using these colors – so if you want to get my full thoughts and opinions (and I’ve got a lot of ’em…some of them good and some of them not so good), keep on watching!

I think you guys can see I struggled with some of the same issues the dark magic palette had as well: patchy mattes. Especially the dark colors. The yellows blended out really nicely, but those deep mattes (like the olive or teal) just really have some formulation issues in my opinion. The fact that they stuck in certain places, refused to be blended out, and that the shadow would be removed when I patted more color on are issues I saw people having prior to the palette being relaunched. Considering how big of a deal it was to have recalled the palettes and reformulated them, I would think some of these problems would have been solved.

Overall, I am in LOVE with the color story of this palette and I’ll definitely still use it, it will just take longer to make sure the shadows are blended well together.
