Harnessing Your Business Superpower with Emily Thomas
Today’s episode sits down with Emily Thomas, a permanent cosmetic tattoo artist, while we talk about how you can harness your business superpower and shares the ups and downs of starting your own service and in-person client-based business. Emily is a licensed cosmetologist of 11 years who grew a professional hair company from the ground up – earning 6 figures and become a million dollar sales rep. She left it all to pursue her dream of being a creative business owner and started Inked Beauty Bar. Over a year later, she is on pace to surpass her previous income while working less hours so she can spend more time with her family and doing a job she loves. You can find her on instagram at @inked_beautybarstl, on Facebook at Inked Beauty Bar and on the web at inkedbeautybar.net!

- They are master multitaskers and doers.
- Sometimes you have to trust your gut and intuition: Emily KNEW she wasn’t completely fulfilled even though she had checked off all the boxes of “success”.
- On a whim, she took a permanent makeup class that gave her the insight she needed to be intrigued by this world.
- She decided she was going to just GO for it.
- One day a week turned into two, which turned into the hard conversation of where’s your heart at?
- This all happened within a years time – and now she is thriving with an entire business for permanent makeup.
- Sometimes the way you embrace motherhood is completely unexpected.
- More people need to talk about the realities of parenthood and how hard and real it is.
- It is OKAY to understand that you aren’t meant to be a ‘stay at home mom’.
- Society would make you feel that there is something wrong with you if you don’t want to be HOME all of the time with your children.
- You can want to work and have a life outside of your children and that doesn’t make you less of a mom.
- You can even be a BETTER mom if you learn to serve yourself in this way and understand what you need to fill your cup.
- It is OKAY to understand that you aren’t meant to be a ‘stay at home mom’.
- More people need to talk about the realities of parenthood and how hard and real it is.
- Stressful things can and will happen in your business (hello, global pandemic).
- It’s how you handle them that really showcases how you will come out of it.
- You can ALWAYS find a silver lining no matter what the situation is.
- We can all have the ability to become a beacon of love and light for others if that is what we want to channel and share.
- BUT we are allowed to prioritize our mental health over saying “yes” to everyone – and that is okay.
- You will have more space for ideal clients and customers if you learn to say no to those who ARE your ideal customer.
