Happy Tuesday! It’s time for another beauty review. I’m going over a popular skincare brand: Dermalogica.  This brand is sold at Ulta so it’s easily accessible. They claim to be the number one choice of skin care recommended by skin care professionals and consumers worldwide. I like the brand already, and as always, skin care is one of my favorite things to try. I have crazy skin and typically I have to switch up what I use every couple months because my skin acclimates to what I’m currently using (annoying, I know). BUT it means I get to test out all kinds of products for you, which is super fun. Let’s dive into this.

Dermalogica Skincare Review

These products were sent to me for consideration. All opinions are mine and mine alone.

Dermalogica Skincare Review

Daily Microfoliant — $55, 2.6 oz

Claim: “Rice Bran and Rice Extract gently microfoliate skin surface to facilitate penetration of the Skin Brightening Complex. Papain Enzyme and Salicylic Acid help dissolve excess surface cells. Skin Brightening Complex of Licorice and Bearberry helps even skin tone.”

Dermalogica Skincare Review

My Thoughts: This is pricey. At $55, it is definitely more expensive that some other microexfoliators I’ve used. HOWEVER. Most drugstore exfoliators I have found are WAY too harsh for my skin. I appreciate how gentle it is on my skin. You can DEFINITELY use it everyday without harming your skin, which I can’t say about most drugstore products. I think it did improve my skin texture — I had some unevenness, dry skin, bumps, etc. but after using this for 5 days, my skin texture become softer and less flakey. I don’t know that it really brightened my skin noticeably, but it may with more continued use. I did notice a more even skin tone, redness was less apparent and my dark circles were also toned down. All in all? 8.5/10.

Pre-Cleanse — $42, 5.1 oz

Claim: “When water is added it transforms this hydrophilic (water-loving) formula into a milky emulsion, easily rinsing away oil-based debris from the skin’s surface and allowing your recommended Dermalogica Cleanser to penetrate even further for professional cleansing results. Formulated with conditioning Rice Bran and Vitamin E oils, this gentle blend can be used around the eye area to even remove waterproof mascara. Offers a deep cleansing ideal for even the most oily skin conditions.”

Dermalogica Skincare Review

My Thoughts: I have actually fallen in love with my pre cleanse. This is a huge game changer for taking off my makeup at night. Now, I use a makeup eraser to take off my makeup. It’s just a special wash cloth you can get at Ulta or Sephora you just add water to. I don’t like regular makeup removers because I feel like I rub too hard on my eyes. This cloth solved all my problems – except for waterproof mascara. I usually use waterproof mascara because I have oily eyelids and my mascara will transfer. But I really damage my eyelashes by rubbing so hard on them every night. When I use the pre cleanse before washing my face, it softens the waterproof mascara making it like butter coming off my eyes. It is SO gentle. Even my super sensitive skin loves it. I would give it a 9/10 (only because I feel like I’m going to go through it really fast, so I wish I got more product for $42).

Photo Replenish Oil — $75, 1 oz

Claim: “Feather-light treatment oil works in three phases to strengthen, hydrate and shield for healthy, luminous skin. Camellia and tamanu oils help restore the skin’s natural barrier. Then, an essential blend that includes orchid flower and chia seed oil smoothes visible lines and locks in critical moisture. Finally, sunflower, rice bran and rosemary extracts create a luminous antioxidant shield against free radical damage.”

My Thoughts: Ughghghghdhghghsdjhslkjdghlskgh. I tried, guys. I wanted to hate this because it’s so expensive for 1 oz of product. I REALLY TRIED. I went in SO skeptical. But I couldn’t do it. This stuff is incredible. ESPECIALLY if you have dry skin. This will be a GAME-CHANGER for you. The texture is so silky on your skin and my face felt INSTANTLY hydrated. Gahhh. It smoothed my fine lines, it made my skin brighter, it smells amazing… I feel like a wrinkle-free goddess now. I want to give it a 12/10 because I think it actually does everything it claimed to do, but the price makes me drop it down to an 8/10. IF you have drier skin, and no moisturizer has helped you, you need this.

Hydrablur Primer — $47, .75 oz

Claim: “Blur fine lines and pores, hydrate and brighten for naturally-flawless skin. Lightweight, non-greasy primer minimizes the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, mattifies against oily shine and imparts a silky-smooth, luminous finish to skin.”

Dermalogica Skincare Review

My Thoughts: This stuff ROCKS for mattifying skin. We all know I have oily skin, it’s not a new thing, so I am constantly looking for mattifying products to keep my oil at bay during the day. This did a fantastic job. I THINK it might bump by TooFaced Primed and Poreless primer out of my #1 spot. I have used it everyday since receiving it in the mail and I’m dreading the day I run out. Honestly, 9/10. Bumped down just bit because, as has been the trend, $47 for a .75oz primer is expensive.

YASSSSS. Ok. I hope this Dermalogica Skincare Review helped you if you’ve been eyeing Dermalogica’s products and haven’t been able to decide what products were worth the dough you have to shell out for them. I really loved each product. I was honestly a little surprised I liked them as much as I did. I thought they were so well made, wonderful formulas and I know how much this brand cares for their customers.

They have top scientists working on their products, so you can guarantee the quality of the product you are purchasing. You truly do pay for quality (and in my opinion, having a top skincare line is so important. Your face is the first thing people notice so it’s important to take care of it)!
