Happy Thursday, everyone! With Christmas right around the corner, it’s the perfect time for you start designing your holiday cards. This is one of my absolute favorite parts of the year – it brings me SO MUCH JOY to create cards to send all my friends and family. AND I love love LOVE LOVE LOVE receiving everyone’s holiday cards. The front of my fridge becomes full of everyone’s happy faces and it makes me giddy. I got my first holiday card this week from my sister-in-law and SO IT BEGINS. Friends & family, if you’re reading this, send me all the cards. Please and thank you. Luckily, this year, I was able to partner with Minted to show you how to create your very own holiday cards this year!
How To Create The Perfect Holiday Card with Minted
I received complimentary Christmas cards in exchange for this post. All opinions are mine and mine alone!
Start with your best family photo.
You can either have these professionally taken or choose to take one yourself with a self timer! Maybe it’s a vacation picture from this year or another memorable moment where you happened to snap a great picture of the whole fam. We took ours with my big camera this year in front of the pretty changing leaves. It doesn’t matter what kind of picture it is, as long as you love it and it captures the essence of your family. Include pets if you want everyone to see your cute fur babies, too!
Head over to Minted.com!
Start by clicking on their “holiday card” section to see their selection of awesome holiday cards.
Choose which type of card you want (there are literally hundreds to choose from). You can have it say festive things like “Merry Christmas”, “Happy Holidays”, “Joyful”, etc. We chose Merry Christmas because that is what celebrate this time of year. Feel free to choose something that best fits your family!
Here, you’ll want to choose how many cards you want. The more you choose, the less $ per card you spend, so the more the merrier! You can also pick your font color, silhouette shape, format and type of paper. Then all you have to do is hit “personalize”!
Here, you can see the design station. You just need to add your image and text. In this section, you’ll keep hitting next until you’ve personalized everything to your hearts desire. We opted to have your address automatically printed on the envelopes (no extra charge) but skipped the recipient addressing because we weren’t sure who we would be sending to. I also enjoy writing out everyone’s name and address. It makes it feel more personal for me.
Another AWESOME perk of Minted is you can customize stamps and have them sent with your cards and envelopes. Honestly, this might have been my favorite part. I didn’t have to wait in line at the post office (the literal bane of my existence. I HAATE the post office) and they have our last name on it! It just streamlined the entire process.
Send out those suckers.
Now is the best part. You can send out these beautiful cards to ALL your friends and family. I just love how ours turned out. We just did the standard paper, but you can add shimmery paper or foiled lettering.
Everyone is going to LOVE having your cards in their home — either on their fridge or in a special card basket (looking at you, mom). It’s such a nice gesture to send cards out to family to remind them you are thinking of them during this time of year.
But wait – there’s MORE!
In addition to Christmas cards this year, I also ordered a hanging bar calendar for 2018. I love this beautiful, personalized calendar. I used our sweet first wedding anniversary pictures and they turned out beautifully. I love having calendars up so I can keep track of important dates and birthdays. It keeps my husband and I on the same page, as well!

I love Minted! All their designs are beautiful! I just ordered ours and they should be here on Monday! I love the picture and card you picked out for yours!
I love, love, love minted! I haven’t done Christmas cards in a few years and I think it’s a bit too late this year, but I definitely want to start doing them again next year!
I love your cards. They are so gorgeous! My husband and I sent out personalized cards like these the year we got married and I haven’t done it since but i’m thinking that it’s time to do them again this year! I always save the ones people send us and pull them out every year and look at them all over again!
Cutest Christmas photos! I can’t wait to get mine in the mail! I love sending out Christmas pictures, but I hate how expensive it is to actually MAIL them! Stamps add up!
I like looking back at old Christmas cards I have received with the family pictures. So much fun to see the changes.
