I promised to document everything I tried & loved when it came to helping my damaged hair and I am super excited about today. I’ve written about affordable hair masks, different lines of hair care and hairstyling tips when it comes to working with damaged hair in the past. There have been so many things that have helped to varying degrees and TODAY I am going to be sharing a seriously awesome hair product that has made a visible difference on my hair: Pantene Intense Rescue Shots. What are they? 

What is the secret to good hair, amiright? Probably not damaging it so badly in the first place but hey – we all make mistakes. If you are sitting in my shoes, and you’ve got hair that needs some serious TLC, Pantene Intense Rescue Shots need to make an appearance in your hair routine. Imported from Brazil, this is Pantene’s first at-home hair rescue treatment. It is their MOST potent repair product (#score) and just one dosage contains natural glycerin, strengthening lipids and Pro-Vitamin B5 – which specifically targets damaged areas and helps strengthen the strands of hair so it can endure heat styling and environmental stresses. Who doesn’t want salon-like hair in-between actual salon visits?! The best part? It actually absorbs into the hair so that it continues to work even past washing it out.

How do you use them?

1. Start with your favorite Pantene shampoo (my go-to is my Sheer Volume Shampoo for fine hair). 
2. Use weekly in the place of your normal conditioner. COAT your hair, from root to tip. Each little tube is a single dose, so no need to worry about overdosing or anything like that.
3. Leave in for 30 seconds.
4. Rinse for 30 seconds. (Be specific, don’t over-rinse here!)

What I’ve personally noticed:

My hair has been doing much better since getting a lot of the dead ends cut off a few weeks ago. That is obviously first step for most people – get rid of as much damaged hair as you can! BUT: I still have lots of damaged pieces that I couldn’t cut off without going way too short. That’s where the Intense Rescue Shots come into play. The first thing I noticed when using the shots was that it was a much different experience than a “hair mask”. You don’t leave it on for an extended period of time. It didn’t add any time to my showers like using an intensive hair mask does (5-10 extra minutes usually), which was great. It smells really good, always a plus, and it very easy to use. You just dispense the full tube into your hand and run it through your hair. I took a large tooth comb in the shower with me to make sure that I evenly distributed the products from root to tip. Rinsing off was simple, and I counted to make sure I didn’t over-rinse the product out. I always blow-dry my hair on medium heat so it isn’t so harsh, and my hair was SO SOFT and SO SHINY after using it. The damaged sections were significantly smoother and softer. They were shiny, they laid flat on my head instead of sticking in crazy directions. I have been SO impressed with how easy the entire process was, and how much healthier my hair looks after just one use. I’ve used it twice since then (a week apart, like suggested) and it is just better every time. I have no doubt that with consistent use over the course of the next few months, my hair with have completely transformed.
