Happy #BEAUTYMONDAY! I got this palette in the mail last week and it wasn’t originally on my radar to film with but I fell IN LOVE with it as soon as I opened it so I obviously had to share a look with it. This is such a gorgeous palette because it is a neutral palette with fun pops of color. It’s beautiful for fall because of the gold and cinnamon shades but it will also transition really well into winter because it has cool browns and shimmers, too. It’s a very versatile palette. BH Cosmetics “Zodiac Love Signs”

HOW THEY PERFORM: I really loved this palette performance. I’m a big fan of BH Cosmetics. They are one of my favorite brands – they are affordable and good quality. Are they in the same caliber as some of my high end palettes? No, but for the price they are worth it. You DO have to build up the mattes a little bit more – but sometimes that is nicer than full pigment because there is less room for error. It’s definitely better in my opinion than screwing up and having to start over. I would highly recommend this brand for beginners. The metallics are really smooth, and pack a punch when you put it on so you can really make a statement on the eyes. I love the combination of colors and the undertones and shifts. I cannot wait to dip more into these shades. I would definitely recommend this palette. LOVED it.

INGREDIENTS: The first ingredient is Ethylhexyl Palmitate – which has occasionally caused irritation of skin and eyes (and lungs if inhaled). It is a fragrance and skin conditioning ingredient. It is a derivative of palm oil, however, so if rainforest destruction bothers you and you want to cut palm oil out of your care, then this isn’t the product for you. The second ingredient is Caprylyl Glycol. It functions as a stabilizer and has been shown to increase the antimicrobial activity of other preservatives – which is great because it increases the shelf life of your product. It is also emollient and moisturizing, which makes it a common skincare ingredient as well. Phenoxyethanol is the next ingredient and the only one that really gives me pause in this eyeshadow palette. It is a known skin, eye and lung irritant. It also has some history of organ toxicity (though non-reproductive). It is a preservative so it works to extend the life of your product, but I would use it with caution. Bismuth Oxychloride is the last ingredient and was used in place of talc in this palette. It has a synthetic pearl sheen, so you can see the shimmer in the shadows.

I hope you guys loved this palette look as much as I did. It’s definitely dramatic – but I think still wearable for glam situations. I love the subtle hint of glitter and shimmer – anytime I can be glittery, you know I’m in. 😉 Plus, it really doesn’t take a ton of shadow colors or skills, just the right size brushes!!
