Happy #beautymonday, fam! I KNOW I have been overwhelming you with new BH Cosmetics launches over the last few weeks but this is one of my favorite brands AND they’ve had so many things come out recently that I’ve been REALLY loving. I particular appreciate the affordability of the brand – it means more of you can get your hands on what I’m reviewing right away, which is AMAZING. Let’s jump right into this.
BH Cosmetics x Sylvia Gani Eyeshadow Palette Review: Swatches, Ingredients, Opinion

REVIEW:
This eyeshadow palette is creamy and blendable (much like many of BH Cosmetics formulas). I really enjoyed a lot of the matte colors – they blended easily into the eye, I didn’t notice an overabundance of patchiness (though there was some in the shades obsessed and hazel). The shimmers pack a ton of punch which I have come to expect from BH Cosmetics now. Queen, Opal, Wild Child and Rosé were all REALLY intense and beautiful when swatched and applied. Goddess was a bit of a disappointment because didn’t shine as well as I wanted it to. It was really like a shimmery yellow vs the gold I wanted it to be. Libra is the darker highlight shade and since I’m so pale, I will have to exclusively use that as an eyeshadow. If you are darker in skin tone than me – you will probably look INCREDIBLE in that shade. I’m glad they included both shades for a range of skin tones to be complimented.
This palette color story really reminds me of the Tarteist Pro palette, actually. The maroons, orange-browns and purples create a moody vibe that I really like, and is nice for fall and winter.
INGREDIENTS:
Talc and Mica are our basic filler ingredients – and they make up the base of the matte & shimmer shadows with talc being used as the filler for shadows and mica being used for the matte shadows. Synthetic Fluorphlogopite is a synthetic mineral based on fluorine, aluminum and silicate; also known as synthetic fluorine mica; used as a bulking agent. It is another basic filler ingredient. It doesn’t have any known toxicity reports – which is great. An important next ingredient is Ethylhexyl Palmitate – which has occasionally caused irritation of skin and eyes (and lungs if inhaled). It is a fragrance and skin conditioning ingredient. It is a derivative of palm oil, however, so if rainforest destruction bothers you and you want to cut palm oil out of your care, then this isn’t the product for you. Magnesium Stearate is an anticaking agent and a bulking agent but more importantly it is a colorant and viscosity increasing agent. It helps create a creamy and smooth consistency. Phenoxyethanol is the next ingredient and the only one that really gives me pause in this eyeshadow palette. It is a known skin, eye and lung irritant. It also has some history of organ toxicity (though non-reproductive). It is a preservative so it works to extend the life of your product, but I would use it with caution. The last important ingredient to share is O-CYMEN-5-OL, which is a common preservative. It IS determined safe for use in cosmetics, which is great. It also tends to be a safer alternative than formaldehyde.
PIN THIS FOR LATER:
This eyeshadow palette is super pretty – and definitely wearable for the everyday girl. It’s got neutral colors in matte and shimmer but also some awesome pops of unexpected color. At only $24 for 20 shadows & 2 highlighters, it’s an awesome deal.

I think it’s so clever how you used the pencil to make that gold in the center of your lid pop even more! So creative. This look is stunning and now I want to try the products for myself. I’ve always loved BH Cosmetics!
