Happy FRI-YAY. Whew. I know I say this every time – but….it’s the last Friday of the month?!?!? HOW did this happen?!? Not only is 2019 flying by – but so is this pregnancy. Only 2 more baby-free months! #insanity This month I have so many fun favorites, and I felt like I totally could have kept going and done more than 10. BUT for the sake of time (and everyone’s attention spans), we will keep it down to 10. So, let’s go ahead and jump right into this.
April 2019 Monthly Obsessions
Satin Hair Scrunchies
Satin hair scrunchies have been making a total come back lately – along with hair scarves!!! I love them because they don’t leave kinks in my hair, so I can have my hair up all day and it won’t crimp (aka the DREAM). They look really cute on your wrist, are easy to bring with you in a bag, and they even hold up my super fine hair without sliding out.
Historical Fiction Novels
I’ve been FLYING through historical fiction novels like nobody’s business. Some current favorites I’ve just finished reading are The Traitor’s Wife (about Benedict Arnold’s wife) and America’s First Daughter (about Thomas Jefferson’s daughter). They are female-centric novels that document the life of these prominent women and their lives surrounding early America. SO interesting and really easy reads. They totally suck you right in!
Dr. Scholl’s Leopard Mules
Ok. I talk about these in my best spring shoe roundup this year – and for good reason. They. Are. The. Bomb. I have officially given up on high heels 7 months into this pregnancy, so I have been looking for flats that are both comfortable and trendy/cute. Dr. Scholl’s literally saved my feet!! These have memory foam-esque insides so they feel like walking on a cloud and they are absolutely darling with their leopard print pattern. I’m sold.
Organizing Everything In Sight (Hello, Nesting!)
If you have been watching my IG stories – you’ll remember a few weeks ago when I went on a crazy cleaning and organizing kick. I tackled my pantry, my kitchen junk drawers, my bathroom sinks, my linen closet…..I literally can’t stop. I’m trying my best to make sure we don’t have any clutter around the house by the time the baby comes. We’ve also been finally tackling some house projects like putting up curtains, painting the nursery and more. #thisisnesting
Love Beauty & Planet Body Lotion (Shea Butter + Sandalwood)
I love this brand (their body wash is my FAVE) but I especially love this lotion! I keep it at my desk because my hands get so dry during the day, and it smells absolutely amazing. It’s hydrating without being greasy, and you are doing good for the planet – which I can always get behind.
Vegan Chocolate Chip Cookies
OK. I’m not becoming vegan – but I am trying to eat more plant-based and healthy 1) for the baby + pregnancy and 2) just because I feel better when I do and I know I’m taking care of my body. These taste so absolutely amazing – you can’t even tell they’re vegan. I didn’t tell Adam they weren’t normal cookies when he tried them and he didn’t even notice – he just thought they were yummy! LOVE.
Bailey Sarian’s Murder Mystery + Makeup Monday
GUYS. You know how obsessed I am with true crime. This isn’t the first time something connected to true crime has been on my Monthly Obsessions. I also love makeup videos. SO. This is the most beautiful mix of the two. Bailey is a YouTuber and she is an amazing makeup artist – so every week on Monday’s, she sits down and does her makeup and talks about a new true crime story. I always put it on while I’m getting ready Monday morning and it’s like hanging out with my bff while we talk true crime.
Chocolate Malts
This has been a current craving. I love love love LOVE chocolate malts. and NO this is not that same as a chocolate milkshake if you haven’t had one. They are so yummy, and have a very distinct flavor. They have about a MILLION calories so I try not to have them very often but sometimes the craving is so strong, I totally give in. Do yourself a favor and go grab one if you haven’t recently.
Victoria’s Secret LOVE Perfume
I actually got this scent almost two years ago during NYFW and it got lost inside of a piece of luggage for like EVER. Well I finally pulled it out again once I found it and remembered why I was SO OBSESSED with it to begin with. It has such a light, beautiful scent and the roller ball applicator of the travel size makes it perfect to toss in your bag and bring with you so you can always smell delicious.
Icy Blonde Hair
I had my hair done earlier this month to give a spring refresh and blonde it up!!! I love icy blonde hair with my complexion and really I’m just gearing up for bright platinum hair and tan skin – because I promise it’s coming. I can’t wait for summer for that reason.
I say this every time – but I love Monthly Obsessions. I also love that it kind of serves as a little reminder to me what I was loving in past months, and is kind of like a little diary almost?!?! So fun.
What have YOU been loving in the last month?! Let me know in the comments below!
