Happy BEST DAY OF THE WHOLE FREAKIN’ YEAR! IT’S HALLOWEEEEEEEN. I am so excited about today – we have our sweet friends coming over with their puppies to help us hand out candy to trick or treaters! FUN FACT ABOUT STL: When the trick or treaters come to your door, they have to tell you a joke before they get candy! I had NO idea but it’s kind of adorable? We will see if all the kids do it tonight. They’ll still get candy regardless, but I’m looking forward to all the fun jokes they bring up! BUT NOW TO THE IMPORTANT PART OF THIS POST: Our 2018 Halloween Costume reveal!! We decided to go as Alice & White Rabbit In Zombieland. It was so fun putting this together.

Alice Costume:

Alice was a total blast to put together.  I like to think of THIS Alice as less timid and shy and more bad-a**. 😉 She’s been through some stuff, and lived through some danger, but ultimately came out on top. The Buffy of Wonderland, if you will.

For her makeup, I used the latex and toilet paper trick to create her wounds and then added a bunch of scab blood. Then, she needed to look like she had been crying, so I created mascara tracks down her face with black and grey mascara. I also added a bite mark on her neck because the Cheshire Cat turned vampire in Zombieland.

For her costume, I snagged this Alice costume from Wholesale Halloween Costumes and then dirtied up her apron with a bloody handprint and some dirt so it looked like there had been some kind of a struggle.

White Rabbit Costume:

The white rabbit was also a fun time. We kind of had to put this costume together with a few different pieces because we couldn’t find a full white rabbit costume for men that worked for what we were going for.

For his makeup, we did a rabbit prosthetic on his nose (I am still working on my blending techniques but it didn’t look terrible) and covered him in white paint. We even painted his hair. For his wounds, I used classic latex and Ben Nye cream paint with a little bit of scab blood to cover over top.

For his costume, we went with a 1920’s red and white striped jacket, a vintage pocket watch, and a gold bow. The rest of the costume (white shirt and pants) he already owned!

We wore these costumes out to a Halloween party Saturday night and had a total blast. We originally went with the idea that we may have a chance at winning the costume contest but QUICKLY realized that St. Louis BRINGS it on Halloween and we were not NEARLY creative enough to win this contest. There was a giant tree (literally like 10 ft tall with movie pieces), the plastic army men from toy story, a huge martini glass..it’s was super fun to see everyone’s amazing costumes. We were REALLY impressed.

What did you dress up as for Halloween this year?! Let me know in the comments below!
