Happy #beautymonday, everyone! Today, I am going to be sharing FOUR of my all-time favorite go-to hairstyles for medium length (and longer) hair. These do require braids / buns – so if you have super short hair they probably won’t work! But if you have shoulder length and longer, these will be PERFECT. These are my easy hair styles that I usually do with second day wavy hair that has a little more body and texture. You can do them with straight hair, too, but you will have more volume with wavy hair and I personally prefer the way it looks! 🙂 Let’s dive into it!
4 Go-To Hairstyles That Take Less Than 15 Minutes
PRODUCTS YOU WILL NEED:
Clear elastics
Handful of bobby pins
Texturizing hairspray.
Teasing comb
ONE: Half-Up Half-Down Twist Bun
Step one: Pull back 1/3 of the top of your hair.
Step two: Gather sections together.
Step three: Twist.
Step four: Twist into bun and pin with bobby pins in an “X” formation.
Step five: Spray with texturizing hairspray.
TWO: Double Dutch Braid Buns
Step one: Part hair down the middle.
Step two: Dutch braid each half tightly.
Step three: Pull pieces to create a thick, loose braid. Out of order double check pics
Step four: Secure each braid end with elastic at base of neck.
Step five: Tease lightly and wrap into bun.
THREE: Pull-Through Mowhawk Braid
Step one: Pull small section of hair on top of head and secure with elastic.
Step two: Repeat with small section directly underneath.
Step three: Separate top section into two pieces, and pull second section through.
Step four: Repeat all the way down to base of neck.
Step five: Tuck excess hair into a bun, or underneath mohawk.
Step six: Pull pieces to create undone texture.
*NOTE: I actually have a full video tutorial on this one, too! It’s super popular! Check it out here.
FOUR: Faux Sock Bun
Step one: Pull hair into tight top pony.
Step two: Tease hair to create full, messy texture.
Step three: Let hair fall naturally over elastic.
Step four: Wrap with second elastic.
Step five: Pull pieces through and secure with bobby pins.
Step six: Pull pieces out around face for undone texture.
PIN THIS FOR LATER:
Once you get the hang of these easy styles, it’s almost second nature to just whip one of them on your head! These are especially great if you already have wavy or curly hair because you don’t have to worry about spending the extra time doing that (hence why these are typically second day styles for me – so I don’t mess with curling time).
