Happy TUESDAY, friends!! It’s PUMPKIN TIME! I love love love LOOOOOVE this time of year – because hello, pumpkin patches! They are so cute and so much fun with their hay rides and apple cider. It is my absolute favorite time of year. Today we are talking about easy pumpkin carvings to do this year. Carving pumpkins are a great activity to do with your whole family and adults and kids alike enjoy doing it. #BLESS Back in the day – my dad was an absolute champ at pumpkin carving because he’s such a talented artist. I am no where NEAR as good as he was but I still enjoy carving cute faces into my pumpkins to put on my front porch. Check out these TEN easy pumpkin carvings anyone can do:
10 Easy Pumpkin Carvings Everyone Can Do
ONE: PUMPKIN CONSTELLATIONS
This is so easy to do – just pick the constellation of your choice and recreate on your pumpkin. This DIY-er also painted her pumpkins black so the orange star pattern REALLY shows through at night when it’s lit up with a candle. So pretty and easy.
TWO: PUMPKIN VAMPIRES
These are SO cute. I love doing these with little smaller pumpkins or “pie” pumpkins. They’re the perfect size and they bring a laugh to the party. They make really cute trios on a mantle or centerpiece and only take a few minutes to put together.
THREE: PUMPKIN TERRARIUM
I HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THIS BEFORE WRITING THIS POST BUT OK HOW CUTE IS THIS. This is so festive and pretty for a kitchen table or counter or even an office that just needs a little bit of pumpkin cheer.
FOUR: YOUR LAST NAME
I love this. This is so cute for porch pumpkins. It can be a little bit difficult to make your letters pretty but here is a trick: use tiny cuts and stencil it out first. Don’t free hand Times New Roman. 😉
FIVE: CARVED AND PEELED
This one of my favorite ways to carve pumpkins!! It’s a cool way to add a third dimension to your pumpkin face. Again for this: just scrape away the top layer of pumpkin skin to reveal the light “meat” of the vegetable (fruit?). The light will shine through just a little bit so you can see them but in the daylight, it makes a big difference and people will think you are FANCY.
SIX: TOOTHPICK TEETH
This is so fun. I’ve never actually done this one before – but I may start this year! If you want monster teeth without the carving hassle – this is such an easy way to do it. Even little kids can jump on board with this.
SEVEN: VINTAGE PUMPKIN CLASSIC JACK
This is a spin on classic jack-o-lanterns: instead of the bright orange pumpkins we are used to seeing, it uses the faded vintage pumpkins that look so beautiful on front porches. They, too, can be carved and they look adorable when done!
EIGHT: HOME ADDRESS PUMPKIN
This is right up here with the last name pumpkins! This is PERFECT for your front porch and they are just really cute altogether. 10/10.
NINE: LOLLIPOP PUMPKIN
This is fabulous for a Halloween party with kiddos! You can make it look like fun hair or something cute like that – ALSO YOU COULD PUT THIS ON YOUR FRONT PORCH FOR TRICK OR TREATERS. WOW. DOING THIS.
TEN: SPIDER CANDLES
Another fun Halloween party decor!! These would also look really cute on a mantle, as well. PLUS it doesn’t take a lot to put this one together. Just scoop out the top and place a little votive in the top with pipe cleaner legs. SO EASY.
PIN THIS FOR LATER:
A toothy grin on a pumpkin is always fun to do – but it isn’t the ONLY thing you can do with a pumpkin. Change it up this year with one of these 10 easy pumpkin carvings. Gather your friends & fam and throw a whole party around it and finish the evening with a Halloween movie. Might I suggest The Nightmare Before Christmas? That’s what I’ll be watching!
