Happy #FASHIONWEDNESDAY! It’s the second week of October and I’m STILL rocking….white jeans? *insert my grandmother clutching her pearls in horror* It has LONG since been a taboo to wear white after labor day, and this week, we are going to dispel that myth with a few simple ways to carry white into fall. You don’t have to completely overhaul your wardrobe to look totally chic — let’s dive into it.

How To Wear White Jeans Into Fall

Throw out all your notions that white isn’t allowed after the first weekend in September — it totally can. Here are my tips & tricks for rocking this trend all year long:

How To Wear White Jeans Into Fall

Tip #1: Pair white jeans with fall colored neutrals.

Think tan, warm browns, burnt oranges, olive greens and maroons. Long sweaters and flowy tops pull white skinny jeans together — I love using scarves and chunky cardigans to pull theses bottoms into an outfit. I opted to throw these white jeans with an olive colored top and a jean jacket. The jean jacket added a “fall” feel, and the olive colored top brings in the fall-colored neutral I needed for this outfit to work.

Tip #2: Add a pair of tall brown boots.

Fall is the season for tall brown boots. I often opt for the classic riding boot — warm brown leather, comes right underneath my knee. These pretty much embody fall in my opinion and everyone needs a really good pair of boots. They can dress up an outfit and are super comfortable because they don’t have a heel. I wear brown boots with everything from sweater dresses to a jean/sweater combo. They’re SO versatile.

Tip #3: Pair white jeans with grey.

In addition to fall-colored neutrals, try pairing your white jeans with a good grey. In the summertime, a grey t-shirt and white jeans looks amazing. So casual and comfortable. In the fall, use the same logic. A grey cardigan or cable knit sweater paired with some black booties and white jeans make the perfect outfit when the weather starts cooling down. The chunkier the sweater, the better!

Tip #4: Top it with a military jacket.

I’m in the market for a really good olive green military jacket because they really pull every fall outfit together. They look awesome when paired with a tan sweater and white jeans. Add the classic brown boot and a cross body leather bag, and you’ve successfully put together another fall outfit!

Tip #5: Bring out the chambray top.

This is MY FAVORITE LOOK FOR FALL. A chambray top, a cheetah scarf, brown boots and a good red lipstick….it doesn’t get any cuter than that. It’s also so easy to layer with a puffy vest or jacket. It carries well from summer (think chambray top with a pink heel and statement necklace) to fall and then onto winter. Chambray + white jeans = 365 days a year perfection.

White jeans don’t have to be put away when the weather starts to cool off. Wear them loud and proud ladies — all year long.

  1. I always wanted a pair of white jeans, but I’m still quite skeptical of wearing them. Even though they are quite easy to wear since they could go with pretty much everything, the probability of getting that pretty white stained it’s killing me.

  2. These are all great ideas. I ditched you can’t wear white after Labor Day thing so many years ago. It still horrifies my Mom that I wear white even in the Winter! lol
