HI HI, friends! I often get asked for recommendations when it comes to skincare – specifically cleaners and moisturizers. These are the base for just about EVERY skincare routine. I am going to do a little series of the best cleansers and moisturizers for different skin types, so today we are starting with the best cleansers for oily skin. I personally have oily and combination skin, so that’s what I know best. I am NOT a dry skin girl at all – my t-zone is it’s own oil spill tbh. I have become more of a fan of dewy skin lately – but not OILY skin and the right base of cleanser can really help prepare my skin to manage oily, while still looking healthy and dewy.

The BEST Cleansers for Oily / Combination Skin

Cetaphil Gentle Skin Facial Cleanser – $7

  • A really inexpensive and good-for-you ingredient cleanser. It’s a no frills, no nonsense skincare item (but it is not cruelty free).

Botanics Shine Away Cleansing Mousse – $8**

  • Another great affordable, no frills cleanser! Plus side? It’s cruelty free and formulated to help with acne.

Honest Beauty Gentle Gel Cleanser – $13**

  • My husband LOVES this cleanser. It’s his #1. It gently cleanses the skin without stripping it (+ it’s cruelty free).

Glossier Milky Jelly Cleanser $18**

  • I REALLY like Glossier. They’re cruelty free AND this cleanser is a cult favorite. It’s FAB for getting rid of excess oily while hydrating the skin.

Origins CHECKS AND BALANCES™ Frothy Face Wash – $24

  • I’m a BIG fan of foaming face washes for oily skin because it cleanses the skin without stripping away the good, natural oil layer. It is NOT cruelty free, however, so it isn’t one I’ll rebuy.

OLEHENRIKSEN Find Your Balance™ Oil Control Cleanser – $26**

  • I like this brand a LOT – this product is the perfect mid-range cleanser (+ it’s cruelty free).

Kiehl’s Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash for Normal-to-Oily Skin – $32

  • I have actually completely used up this foaming face wash. Unfortunately, it isn’t cruelty-free so now that I’m out of it, I’m moving to the Dermalogica cleanser!

Murad Clarifying Cleanser – $32**

  • All throughout college, I used a Murad clarifying line to help control my acne. I LOVE Murad’s ingredients and the fact that they’re cruelty free.

Youth To The People Superfood Cleanser – $36**

  • I LOVE this cleanser – and I love even more that it is vegan, cruelty free and eco-friendly. That usually comes with a bit higher price tag, but it’s worth it to me to spend a little more.

Dermalogica Intensive Moisture Cleanser – $39**

  • I am a BIG BIG fan of Dermalogica!!! I use SO many of their products on a daily basis and a good portion of my favorite products are Dermalogica. I know they’re pricy, but they have good ingredients and their products really work for my skin. This cleanser is great because it does NOT strip the skin of natural hydration – but it does help control oil (+ cruelty free)!

I hope this helps all my oily/combo skin ladies find a cleaner that not only WORKS for you but also fits within your budget. Only 3 of the above products aren’t cruelty-free SO if that is as important to you as it is to me, there are options in each price point that ARE cruelty free! I tried to make sure there is a range of low to high-end cleansers so you never have to sacrifice your wallet for quality. ALL of these products I have used and would recommend.

What is your favorite cleanser for oily skin?!
