It is #fashionwednesday….you know what that means! It is time to show of Michelle’s amazing photography and the outfit of the week. I’ve been feeling kind of edgy lately (lol..as edgy as you can be and still wear every shade of pink lipstick you can get your hands on..) so I decided to show you guys how to accomplish the envied “street style” that is so crazy popular this season. Break out your converse, girls. It’s go time.

4 Ways To Kill It In Street Style & Also Look Totally Put Together.

(aka I could not think of a shorter title for this..yikes)

Step One: Choose your weapon.

In this case, your weapon equals your killer graphic tee. Man. I had no idea what I was missing until I purchased this incredible shirt from Hope Ave (I talk all about this store in last weeks #fashionwednesday). I also recently ordered a “Mermaid Hair Salty Air” graphic tee from Sunsparrow Shirts — I hosted a Facebook pop-up shop with them last Tuesday and it was so fun. So basically. Moral of the story. Graphic tees = my new obsession. Ok. Sweet.

Step Two: Layers lol.

I mean. Sort of. It’s summer so who actually wears the layer part of this outfit. But the thing is, it seriously pulls it all together so what the heck. I chose my favorite plaid flannel (which I practically live in during the fall) and tied that sucker around my waist. What. Up. You could also tie a moto jacket or cardigan and achieve the same i-just-woke-up-like-this, grabbed-the-first-thing-out-of-my-closet vibe. Which is what we want, right?

Step Three: Converse, baby.

I just think that this outfit needs to be tied together with converse. It just does. I’m still totally obsessed with these. Is that so 2010? Crap. Whatever. I think I singled handedly brought back overalls so I can probs do that with these too. I love the look of white converse because they scream laid back and casual. I actually could get away with wearing my Nike Frees too. They also look really cool and effortless. No matter what, you want to pick a shoe that says “I’m not trying too hard I’m actually this cool”. Even if, like me, you totally aren’t that cool.

Step Four: Make a statement.

The key to pulling this entire look together is to not make it seem like you’re trying at all. Which is hilarious considering I spent a solid 20 minutes pulling this together. Not trying, my butt. BUT IF YOU SAW ME ON THE STREET you’d think I was some hipster wannabe. Score. I chose a bold, gold Fossil watch and little gold bar earrings to pull this look together. It is just enough to say “I’m a lady” but not over the top as to wipe out the entire outfit. Win.
