HOLY GUACAMOLE. Blonde & Ambitious is …. 5 years old. I’m sorry. WHAT THE HECK. My blog is a literally kindergartener. When I started this blog, it was literally just for a creative outlet. I didn’t even know it could be a career. I wanted to take pretty pictures and talk about things I loved and do something outside of my VERY analytical college degree. Now that we’ve hit this milestone, I wanted to share my top 10 accomplishments over the last five years to celebrate B&A thriving today!! Let’s dive into it.
HAPPY 5 YEARS, BLONDE & AMBITIOUS!
Here are some of my top accomplishments – in no particular order.
ONE: I have worked with literal dream brands over the last 5 years. Brands such as Urban Decay Cosmetics, Disney, Chicco – and COUNTLESS small shops across the country.
TWO: I met my best friends and have been able to support and share in all of the ups and downs of this business. We met on the internet – but since then, we’ve traveled together, vacationed as families, had our hubbies become close friends, and talk every single day via FaceTime. That is something I’ll NEVER take for granted.
THREE: I won InfluenceHERS Beauty Influencer of the Year award in 2019, and was flown to Los Angeles to accept my award.
FOUR: I got to have a VIP Disneyworld trip with my BFF AND bring my mama along. It was a trip that will forever be solidified into my memory banks.
FIVE: I started a podcast, and had it absolutely take off. There has been no shortage of guests (I’m actually booked out until January with interviews + episodes). To date, this has been my most fulfilling passion project.
SIX: I was able to go to New York Fashion Week THREE times and meet with brands, watch runway shows and go behind the scenes.
SEVEN: I have been able to connect with and meet some AMAZING photographers – and work with so many of them on styled shoots and other collaborations. Some of them have become a few of my closest friends.
EIGHT: I started the business coaching part of my business when I realized just how insanely passionate I am about helping others work for themselves. Growing this side of my business has been so incredibly rewarding.
NINE: In year 2 of running my blog, I quit my full time job when I had matched my salary. Since then, I’ve only increased that income and been able to do what I love while helping my family financially. Proving to myself year after year that I CAN do this and be successful.
TEN: I have built an audience of women who are fierce, inspiring and unapologetically themselves. I am reminded every day when I talk to my readers/followers/listeners just how important my platform can be. I never dreamed this would be the career path I went with (hi, I always thought I’d grow up to be a veterinarian) but honestly….I wouldn’t have it any other way.
The last five years have been tough (as running any business is), but ultimately incredibly rewarding. I work hard to make sure I’m delivering content that speaks to YOU as my reader and I hope that you love being along for the ride.
Thank you for being here, whether you are an OG follower or new to the B&A girl gang. I love that you decided to spend a few minutes of your life hanging out with me and I hope you stick around.
