Let me be honest. I was so nervous about choosing a an engagement photographer for our session/wedding. I knew exactly what I wanted when it came to our engagements, but I had a budget. And, I had things in mind that I just didn’t want to compromise on (we will hang these pictures on our wall for like, ever, you know?). Then, as I was scrolling through my Facebook a couple months ago, I found Michelle and Logan Photography. It was by complete accident, because I wasn’t even looking, but I think it was perfect. As I looked through her pictures, I couldn’t stop grinning because every picture I saw was my dream come true.
Their pictures were etherial and dreamy and they didn’t look retouched (that was a big deal for me. Honestly, I wanted us to look like us, not like magazine models). I could actually see how in love the photographed couples were. I wanted that.
Choosing An Engagement Photographer
Once our schedules came together, Michelle and I met in person. She was so sweet and really listened to what I wanted in our engagement shoot. I had no idea where our location would be but Michelle assured me that she would be able to find the perfect spot (which she did). We set the date for our engagement session and then I waited patiently.
When Adam and I were choosing the outfits we were going to wear, I sent her pictures and she was able to tell me if they would work with our background. I was nervous about choosing a color that would blend in with the fall colored leaves (luckily the outfits we picked were perfect!). I really appreciated that she was available to help with that. She knew our location much better than we did and she knew what would photograph well.
FINALLY October 14th came and it was time for our session (*squeal*). Michelle could not have picked a more perfect place for our pictures. She took my phrases “beautiful fall colors” & “nature-y” and turned them into a reality. And trust me, Octobers in Idaho can be tricky. It was already starting to get cold and I had been worried about the leaves already turning brown and falling.
Anyways, she was so darling the entire time we took our pictures. She made it so easy to pose and be natural. Adam doesn’t like posed pictures and so she was able to take some that showed our love so naturally. We took pictures where we were laughing and dancing and being our silly selves. It couldn’t have gone more smoothly.
I didn’t plan on getting our pictures back for a while because she’s a busy lady, but we actually got them back so fast and I was totally impressed. I actually cried a little bit when I looked at all of them for the first time. Our session was everything we wanted and I can’t wait to print and frame our favorites.
Here are some of our favorites from the shoot:

We loved Michelle and we are so glad that we were able to find an engagement photographer to made our visions a reality. In fact, we loved our pictures so much we hired her to take our wedding and reception pictures as well. 🙂 April 9th, here we come!
