HAPPY FRIDAY, EVERYONE! I don’t know about you – but it has been a WEEK. GEEEEZ. I have never been more excited to see a Friday in my life. In case you missed our excited update at the beginning of the week, we adopted a PUPPY this past Sunday. We couldn’t be happier to have expanded our little furry fam by four little legs. Now we’ve got our two sweet kitties (Izzy & Chester) and the sweetest pup there ever way. He’s a 12-week old German shepherd/coonhound mix (they think, we adopted from a shelter) and his name is Archer. We love him like crazy already. So between the exhaustion of being up every night at 3:30am to let him out and trying to wear him out during the day, I’m WIPED. Aka. TGIF. ANYWHO. Today is the recap of my trip last week to sunny (lol) Miramar Beach, Florida. I went out there to review the Hilton Sandestin Golf Resort & Beach Spa and it was so much fun. While it DID rain much of the trip, it was also really nice out and there was still plenty to do. Let’s dive into this end-of-summer getaway review!
End Of Summer Getaway: Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa
This post is sponsored by Hilton Sandestin Golf Resort & Beach Spa. All opinions are mine and mine alone.
Some *KEY* Points About The Resort:
The amazing pool locations on site.
They have 3 pools: the indoor pool and two outdoor pools. They are kept very clean, and at a great swimming temperature. The two outdoor pools overlook the pretty beach and the indoor pool is conveniently location right near the poolside market so you can snack and swim all day long (as long as you wait the recommended 30 minutes after eating to splash in ;)). They also have two hot tubs, one indoor and one outdoor. I loved the outdoor hot tub because it, too, had a great view of the beach and easy snacking options.
The fabulous eatery selections.
I liked every single thing I ate on this trip. There wasn’t one disappointment. They have a TON of great restaurants to choose from with extensive dinner menus and there is definitely something for everyone. You can eat inside or outside, and they have quick and friendly service at all locations.
The SPA.
I got an aromatherapy massage while I was here and boy-oh-boy was it fabulous. My masseuse was amazing at her job and made me feel super relaxed and comfortable. The entire spa experience was really neat. They have hair and nail salons, offer massages and facials, there is a sauna and steam room, these SUPER neat zero gravity chairs (aka recliners that go just a little farther back to give you the best. nap. ever.) and my PERSONAL favorite park: the aromatherapy showers. After my massage, I took a shower here and it was SO relaxing. 10/10.
The spacious rooms + balcony views.
Our room was a really great size. It had two queen beds and a large balcony with chairs. We had a seating area with a couch and table as well as a full bathroom. The neat part about the Emerald Tower we stayed in was the additional room at the front of our hotel room. It housed BUNK BEDS and an extra. As a kid, that would have been SO much fun so this part of the resort is perfect for families.
The beach set up.
They offer beach set ups so that you don’t have to bring your own chairs to the beach (which is awesome) and provide umbrellas, as well! Just let them know how many chairs you need and they take care of it. It makes walking down t0 the beach an easy and hassle free order (especially if you have littles in tow).
Conference space.
This hotel is IDEAL for conferences. They have several conference rooms and ballrooms to choose from when it comes to a venue and they have dedicated professionals who make sure your meeting goes off without a hitch. They love hosting company getaways, team building retreats and more.
Where You Should Eat:
Barefoot’s Beachside Bar & Grill
This was SO yummy. I had the biggest BLT I’ve ever seen in my LIFE. SO delicious. They are located outside the beach so you can stay in your swimsuits while you eat lunch (very convenient) and grab a fun and fruit drink while you are there to soak up that #beachlife. They have a great selection of sandwiches and burgers (+ more) so you’ll definitely be able to find something great to eat here.
Sandcastles Restaurant & Lounge
We ate dinner here every night and it was always yummy. Over the course of three nights, I had the Margherita pizza (SO YUM), the basic burger (definitely recommend) and their filet mignon and vegetables (if you want a cut of steak that will melt in your mouth – this is the one). The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable about what is on the menu, so be sure to ask if you can’t decide. *BONUS TIP: if you don’t drink alcohol, they serve a MEAN virgin mojito and virgin strawberry daiquiri.
Room Service
We did this for breakfast one day and it was so much fun!! Just fill out the card they give you upon arrival and hang it outside your door. They will deliver it in the morning! No need to call and remind. Get a variety of pastries, or some eggs, bacon and sausage. Either way you get something good.
Picnix Poolside Market
This market is known for their famous HOT DOGS. They have tons of fun types to choose from like the Bacon Mac Dog (macaroni and cheese with bacon over the hot dog), the Spicy Dog (hot pepper relish, pepper jack cheese, ranch dressing), the Buffalo Dog (Frank’s buffalo sauce, blue cheeses crumbles, shredded carrot & celery, blue cheese dressing) + more!! There are other market-type things to choose from (sandwiches and salads, etc) but if you are here, why not get the dog?!
The Coffee Shop
They serve Starbucks so no worries – you don’t have to miss your morning cup of Joe 😉 Or herbal tea in my case. They also have delicious bagels and pastries as well as cereal and juices. It’s a great grab-n-go type of shop.
Some Alternative Rainy Day Activities:
The indoor pool + hot tub.
This was great for the days we couldn’t use the outdoor facilities. We were able to take a quick hot tub dip every night before bed and enjoy the pool even while it was raining. Definitely take advantage of these if it starts to drizzle on you (as it so often does in FL).
The Spa.
Need I say more? The epitome of relaxation is a facial + massage so don’t miss it! Take advantage of the time spent indoor to totally pamper yourself with any of their top-notch services. I highly recommend the aromatherapy massage but I can’t image any of the other services are anything less than magical.
The movie theater.
That’s right! They do have a movie theater in the resort – just be sure to check down at The Kids Krew to see what is playing and when. They run movies every day during the summer and then on select days during the off-season. It’s a great way to spend time together as a family without leaving the resort.
The shopping center downtown.
If you don’t mind leaving the resort, however, definitely make time to check out the Outlet Mall and movie theater in downtown Miramar Beach as well! They have lots of awesome shopping and food – so it’s a great way to get out of the rain for a few hours.
Room service.
What I Liked The MOST:
- The various pool locations to choose from.
- How CLEAN the beach was.
- The awesome food selection (+ virgin drinks!)
- The comfortable beds + large bathroom space
PIN THIS FOR LATER:
Overall – the Hilton Sandestin Golf Resort & Beach Spa is a truly lovely place to stay. We went during the off season, so it was pretty quiet with only a few conferences going on. The beach was so clean (with SUCH white sand) and honestly, the water felt like a bathtub. It was SO warm and so clear you could see all the way to the bottom! I would definitely return with hubby in tow to enjoy the resort again (next time with less rain, hopefully).

It’s not often that there are great indoor activities for when it rains. That definitely stood out to me (along with all that yummy-sounding food)!
