Happy #fashionwednesday, everyone! I had the CRAZIEST day yesterday, and am really glad to be sitting at home, relaxing. I packed about a weeks worth of activity into one Tuesday and I’m still tired after 8 hours of sleep. Today’s post is a fun one — photographed by the beautiful Erin Stubblefield (see her work here) — it’s how to wear a bodysuit the classy way! I love bodysuits lately because I don’t have to keep tucking in my top in. It’s perfect for skirts, jeans, and shorts. Let’s get into it!

Bodysuits are the perfect accessory for the summer. They are SO easy to wear, and they look perfect on just about everyone. This particular bodysuit has flared sleeves (throwback to my boho vibes I can’t get rid of this year), and a fab peachy pink color.

Here are my TOP tips to wearing a bodysuit – and looking classy while doing it.

TIP #1: CHOOSE A FLATTERING NECKLINE

I always think that a round neck is the perfect go-to for all body types. If you are hourglass shaped, a v-neck is fabulous — it will point down, accentuating your tiny waist. If you are an apple shape, round necklines are the way to go. Pear necklines go really well with those that are pear shaped. For any other body shape of the fruit-like persuasion, stick with a round neck. You can never go wrong!

TIP #2: CHOOSE A FLATTERING COLOR

Peachy pink is one of my favorite summer colors. It doesn’t wash me out, it makes my eyes pop and my freckles stand out. A classic black, a bright pink or a pale green are all really safe choices for summer no matter what your skin color. If you want to be more daring, a black and white striped body suit or a floral bodysuit can make a fun statement.

TIP #3: CHOOSE YOUR OCCASION

I went for a hanging-out-at-the-park-with-Erin vibe vs a date-night-with-Adam vibe in this shoot. The ripped jeans make it so casual, and the gladiator sandals add a cool-girl feel (at least that’s what I tell myself at night). I also wear this bodysuit with a white pencil skirt when I want to dress it up, and add sky-high pointed toe heels to make it super sexy. Another way you can wear this is with a floral a-line skirt. I did that when we were in the Dominican Republic and got SO many compliments. It is an amazingly versatile piece.

  1. So, I always overlook bodysuits because I don’t usually like how people style them. This is a super cute loom and has me thinking about giving it a go!

  2. This was such a fun body suit! I have a striped one that I love and I’ve found it so hard to style, so I found this post super helpful. I actually did not think to style it with jeans and it just occurred to me that if I wore mine with jeans, it would look fab!

  3. Very cute! There’s a bodysuit at my favorite online store that I love but am iffy about whether or not I want to buy it. After this is just may have to!

  4. The sleeves on this bodysuit are so cute! I’ve never seen anything like it. This is basically my go-to summer look. You can’t go wrong with light-colored jeans.

  5. I love a good bodysuit! It’s so nice to have something that doesn’t require fussing when you’re wearing it. Your styling of this one is really great!
