Happy Hump Day, party people! I hope you are having a marvelous week. Only two more days until Friday! Woo-HOO! I am excited to share with you my favorite coat (aka literally the best thing I’ve ever worn). I wish I would have gotten my hands on it sooner but it has taken me MONTHS to find the perfect one. I’m not kidding when I tell you I scoured rack after rack and store after store until I found the coat of my dreams. And of course, it’s now the end of the season. Luckily, it’s still chilly so I will be able to wear it through February. It will be perfect for Valentine’s Day. So let’s chat about choosing the perfect coat.

Choosing the Perfect Coat

Step One: Decide what cut you want.

I knew forever ago I wanted a longer, classier coat with a neutral tone. I originally wanted one without a collar but I settled on this one because I actually like it better with a collar. I love that it goes down to my knees because I can wear it to church on Sunday’s with a dress. SO. Decide what cut you want (and what flatters you the most) and start searching.

Step Two: Choose a color.

I went with neutral because I knew it would match basically everything I own. I actually can’t think of a single outfit I have that would really clash with this jacket. You could always go with a black or tan, but I soft blush flatters my skin tone better than either of those.

Step Three: Decide your price range.

I didn’t want to spend over $80. If you don’t have a budget, you can probably find one REALLY easily. I know I found plenty for between $150-200, but I just didn’t have that to spend on a coat. But – this just proves that finding what you want in your budget is NOT impossible. Keep searching!

I know that this post is late in the season, but for many of us, it will still be chilly for at least another month and a half. Lucky for me, this coat is going to last a LONG long time. I can’t wait to wear it for my Valentine’s Day date! I think it is going to be absolutely ADORABLE, don’t you?!?

  2. This coat is awesome! I am looking for a perfect neutral coat for a few years now… No such luck. I have that is black and white and it is great, but when I want to waer something more neutral… I can’t wear that 😉 And also, I love that yours is so long, mine is shorter and it looks funny with long dresses =(
    Xoxo, A.

  3. I love your outfit! I am picky about my coats but I love for my pea coats to be a little longer but have a little volume in the back around the bottom.

  4. I love your coat! I definitely need to add variety to my coat selection and anything other than black will do. I’m in Eastern Canada so I would only start wearing that kind of coat in about two months, so I still have time to shop! 🙂
