Hello pretty ladies! Welcome back to another #FASHIONWEDNESDAY! Keeping with the trend of guest posts I have going on for the next week or so, I am so excited to introduce you Rema, the face behind Jewelry & Jeans. Hello everyone! My name is Rema from Jewelry & Jeans, a fashion, beauty and lifestyle blog. I am a wife and mom to two little men who fill my heart completely and I am a fashion enthusiast and beauty novice, who loves playing with new styles and trends. Exploring my creative side and design are two of my passions, and it’s an added bonus when I can do so without breaking the bank. I began blogging as a way to share my style with family and friends but I love that I have been able to connect with people from all over. Stop by and say hello, I love meeting new people. Hope you enjoy today’s post.

When I stopped work to have our second son I couldn’t wait to transition out of the suit and heels and live in comfier clothing. After having our second son my days of office wear turned into months of yoga wear.  Don’t get me wrong, I love a good pair of yoga pants and could live in them forever but there is something to be said for getting dressed for the day in “adult” clothing. High heels, crisp slacks and a beautiful blouse are empowering.

Tips To Transition Your Outfit From Business To Casual In Minutes:

Step One: Wear a blazer.

Blazers are empowering because they make you feel like the #bosslady you are. They work to dress up your work outfit. Blazers are also perfect because you can take them off and BOOM. This flirty, halter top is coming out to play.

Step Two: Pack a second pair of shoes.

Those stilettos may look amazing for your office job, but you aren’t going to want to walk around with your ladies like that (talk about OUCH). Pack a cute pair of studded flats to easily transition into your casual look!

Step Three: Pack some extra mascara.

To fully take your look from “work” to “wow” throw on an extra coat of mascara to really add some much needed drama to your face. Glam it up and use the Dior Showstopper Mascara to add extra volume and curl to your lashes.

Even though I’m not back in the office, I am still working and have business meetings to attend to. When I bought this top I immediately fell in love with the knot and keyhole detail in the front.  The silky fabric and flowy cut are very forgiving and this look could easily be paired with some black skinny jeans for cocktails out with friends, or even white skinnies if you’re feeling bold. To make it work appropriate I would throw on a blazer or cardigan.  I love when I find pieces that I can tie into my business attire but also have fun in outside of work.

YAY! Thanks so much, Rema for your words of wisdom. So many of us have jobs that require “work clothes” and it is so nice to know that you can have work clothes that also double as play clothes! I love the black and white in her outfit, don’t you?

Be sure to show her some love on her page and social media sites.

Thanks for stopping by — you are going to LOVE Friday’s post, so be sure to stop by for that as well. 🙂

  1. Great post,
I had the same initial struggle when I had my son, it bacme workout gear 24-7 until I actually got back to the office and was able to branch out once again. I love the idea of having versatile pieces to work from day to night!

  2. I totally relate to her when she was excited to be in comfier clothes when having a baby! Isn’t that all of us? I know I’ll be doing that in November.

  3. That blouse is gorgeous. With a blazer, it would be a nice professional look for the office. I work in a lab, so I’d never wear something that nice to work.

  4. That top. I love it. I can’t wear it as my arms would look horrifying. I love the bag as well! Too cute!

  5. Loving everything about your outfit. I work in a more casual environment so I can see myself wearing something like this. Though I might through a cardigan over the top since I’m always cold inside.

  6. I love your cute top actually thought that it was going to be a dress at first. It would’ve been really cute as a dress also.

  7. It feels nice to dress up for work. Not that you have to but it’s just motivating. Plus it’s not embarrassing to meet clients as well. I think this is a nice ensemble, it’s comfy and it’s perfect for the office.

  8. I absolutely love the monochromatic top and I agree; getting out of your comfy clothes and slipping into your more structured clothes really does make you feel better.

  9. A dear dear friend of mine told me after my first baby was born and I left the work force — to 1) shower every day – no matter what 2) to put on my face – everyday no matter what 3) to get dressed in clothes – not pjs or workouts or lounge clothes – but actual clothes – everyday no matter what – She told me I would feel better about myself and my husband would always be attracted to me. It works!

  10. What a gorgeous outfit! I’m stuck on black and whites, especially if I’m needing to get a little more business-like. It all ends up matching making for a quick yet professional outfit.

  11. The entire look is amazing but my favorite items are the accessories! Nothing beats a large black tote/ satchel and beautiful arm candy.

  12. I’m such a fan of multiple mascara coats! It really does make a huge difference and definitely glams things up!

  13. I may fall into that yoga pants category…I think because I still have a toddler…who likes to throw food 😉 I do love to get dressed up, but it doesn’t happen as often as it should!

  14. Love that shirt! I work at home so your business attire would be something I would slip into for an evening out with the hubby. Currently I fall into the jeans and t-shirt crowd, messy bun anyone?
