Hey, hey HAPPY FRI-YAY! I’m pretty excited about this post because it’s about one of my very favorite pieces of clothing: shoes. Shoes are pretty much one of the most important parts of any look – can literally make or break an outfit. SO. In the interest of making sure that you are as stylish as humanly possible this summer – I’ve come up with 10 pairs of shoes that you NEED to own this summer. They are classic, versatile and *mostly* neutral so that you wear them again and again and never get tired of them. #thedream Not only are all of these pairs total classics that I personally own (so you know I can vouch for them 100%) – they are all also SUPER comfortable so blisters aren’t even an option with these. YA WELCOME. Let’s dive into this.
10 Shoes You NEED For Summer
Downeast Basics Heeled Sandal
These are basically magic for your feet. Not only are they one of THE MOST (if not the most) comfortable heels I’ve ever worn – but they totally make your legs look amazing. The stacked heel isn’t tall enough to make your feet hurt, but they aren’t short enough to be that awkward in between height. The nude color is super classic and will match almost every outfit you wear it with.
They are what I’m wearing in this outfit, too, for reference, so you can see them in action.
Circus Pineapple Slides
I’m pretty into these slides, not gonna lie. They were in my monthly obsessions post last month – so you know that I really love them. I wear them at least twice a week because they’re crazy comfy and really stylish. They have the exact pop of color and pattern you need to add to an otherwise neutral outfit. I love pairing them with my jumpsuits and my jean mini skirt.
Downeast Basics Classic Sandal
This is a really good sandal to have in your shoe repertoire because it’s so versatile. It’s your everyday, basic brown sandal. It has laser cut outs so it’s got a little more spice than some other options – but it’s still simple enough to match with everything. I love wearing this with my boyfriend jeans and cute loose dresses. Check them out here if you want to see them styled with an easy chambray dress! They are also insanely comfortable – and one of the only sandals I’ve never gotten a blister from. Plus the price can’t be beat!
Comfort Plus Coral Pumps
I’ve honest-to-goodness had these heels for years. Since college. They still look almost brand new and they’re just one of the best heels I own. I actually have these in 4 colors (teal, nude, black and coral) – simply because they don’t give me blisters, they don’t make my feel hurt, and they aren’t super high. These are a pretty tame heel for me, so they’re great to break out with a more casual outfit like this tee + jean combo but they also SLAY with dressier outfits like this body con dress.
Tommy Hilfiger Millenial Pink Sneaker
These are one of my summer go-tos. I’ve been SUPER into sneakers lately and these definitely make the cut. These were a Ross steal over Labor Day and I have hardly put them down since. They are easy to wear and easy to style. I wear them with joggers, with white jeans, with boyfriend jeans. They are SO EASY to style. I also love throwing them with t-shirt dresses when I run errands. They are faux leather, but still breathable, which is a big plus.
See these cute ones paired with my white jeans here.
Marc Fisher Heeled Sandal
I’ve had these forever, too, and they have truly held up to the test of time. I wore them last year during my anniversary shoot and felt SO beautiful. They really are one of those shoes that just instantly takes an outfit from a 5 to a 10. These did take a few wears to fully break in BUT once I broke them in – they are insanely comfortable. I did take care the first time I wore them with moleskin pads and they I was able to avoid any kind of blisters they may have given me.
I have worn them here in my anniversary shoot, here in this adorable summer outfit, and here with this spring transitional outfit!
Downeast Basics Pointed Toe Slides
I LOVE THESE! These are so unique and cute and I don’t really have anything else like them. Slides are so in this season, and I’m taking full advantage, but I feel like these are different from any other slides I own. First of all, they are pointed toe which is my FAVORITE type of shoe. Second of all, they are a geometric/aztec design which I LOVE. I thought these would be difficult to wear because of the pointed toe slide type style – but actually, they stay on really well and I don’t have any trouble walking in them. 10/10. I loved pairing them with this PERFECT mustard boho top and jean shorts.
Soft Surroundings Gold Slides
Guys. GUUUUYYYYS. These shoes have shown up many…many…MANYYYY time over the last few months. Soft Surroundings is one of my favorite brands and these shoes are SUCH winners. They are insanely comfy (a must-have) and are a neutral in their own way. I throw them on while running errands to be super causal with a kick, but I also can dress them up super easily with a cute dress or jumpsuit (like here). They also showed up in May’s monthly obsessions post!
Circus Gingham Slides
THESE SHOES ARE SO CUTE I CANNOT. I honestly need to wear them more. I have been pretty obsessed with gingham lately and these shoes are no exception. I love the little heel on them and the cute bow. You do need to keep your outfit pretty tame with these because they truly steal the show. They do give me little blisters by the top of the slide – so I would recommend little moleskins to break them in so you don’t get any little blisters. Other than that – they’re FABULOUS. Check them out paired with this blue floral top + black jeans.
Marc Fisher Denim Platform Heels
These heels are another really unique shoe! I love these denim platforms because they being a lot to the outfit while staying pretty neutral. I love the two-tone denim and they are surprisingly easy to walk in. You’d think they would be kind of difficult to walk in because they’re so high, but the platform makes them really easy on your ankles so there’s no danger of tripping, I promise. They really shine when paired with this cute floral dress.

Great choice Taylor! I just realised I got most of these as my top 10. Only thing I must add to the list are the comfiest ladies birkenstock – I wear these the most. They are extremely comfortable and work great with my daily outfits 🙂
