Happy #FASHIONWEDNESDAY! It’s been the CRAZIEST week this week and I am literally trying just to keep my head above water right now but the show must go on, amiright? Today, we are breaking down some more fashion myths and helping you create the best closet you can possibly own. We are going to tackle my absolute favorite color of the season this year: MUSTARD. I used to be so afraid of yellow because I thought I couldn’t pull it off but recently, I’ve been totally changing my tune. Mustard has been my go-to for fall and it is just the right pop of color but still neutral – so you can pair it will almost anything. Let’s dive into this.

Why The Color Mustard Will NEVER Go Out Of Style

Mustard is a go-to for fall because of how versatile it is – so this is a classic that won’t ever be off-trend. So stock up on your mustard pieces, ladies, and spend a little extra, because this style isn’t going anywhere.

ONE: It’s the perfect “pop of neutral”

This is the best part of this color. It’s really similar to leopard print in which it is totally eye catching but goes with EVERYTHING. It stays away from your typical black, brown and cream neutrals (which are still completely fabulous, but tend to be boring at times), and introduces a new way to wear neutral. It’s very similar in that way to olive green, as well. You can pair mustard with black, you can pair it with brown, with cream, with navy, with olive. The options are honestly endless.

TWO: It looks good with a wide range of skin tones

This is the BEST part. Mustard goes with everyone. I looks so shocking and beautiful against darker skin tones, and it looks muted and chic against lighter skin tones. I love that it’s easy to pull off no matter who you are. That is a testament to a true classic, in my opinion. Everyone should be able to pull it off and look amazing. It won’t stand the test of time if only one kind of person can wear it – it has to be made for everyone.

THREE: It can be used on any accessory or piece of clothing

This is a really neat part of this color. It isn’t limited to just one area of the body. Mustard can be worn on anything! My personal favorite ways are chunky knit sweaters, booties, earrings and saddlebags. They stand out and call attention to themselves in this color without being gaudy or obnoxious. Step out of your comfort zone and try it in a new way. A vest, hair scarf, a hat. There are very few things that don’t look good in the color mustard, in my opinion.

FOUR: It can be dressed up OR down

This is the best part! Mustard isn’t limited to just casual clothing. #BLESS It can be worn for any occasion. Whether it’s a dressy Thanksgiving dress, a cozy sweater or a sequin party gown – it looks beautiful no matter what. It looks good as a pair of heels or as a pair of sneakers. Decide how you want to dress this color up, and rock it!
