Happy #FASHIONWEDNESDAY!! 馃檪 It’s been SUCH a wonderful week here in St. Louis, MO. I had a FANTASTIC shoot with my favorite photographer, Erin Stubblefield, yesterday (check my instagram stories for behind the scenes HERE). Spring is starting to come to an end, but we still have two and a half good weeks to live up our favorite spring fashion! This year I’ve been all about crushing fashion “rules” people throw my way. Today we are going to tackle “you can’t wear red in spring”. I wish I could say I was kidding, but someone actually told me this! WHAT? So, here I am, back again to prove them w r o n g. I tackled the whole “you can’t wear a body con dress in spring” earlier this season (check that post out HERE), and I’m ready to dispel this one, too. Let’s dive into this.
How To Wear Red In Spring
STEP ONE: Pick your shade of red.
This is extremely important because not everyone can pull off the same shade of red. It all depends on your undertones. To find yours, look at the color of your veins in your forearms in natural sunlight. They will shine either blue or green. If you have green undertones, an orange-red is going to be the MOST flattering shade for you. If you have blue undertones, a blue-red will be absolutely STUNNING on you. I am blue toned, so I always choose to go more blue-red than orange-red. It’s all in the details! #HOLLA
STEP TWO: Dress it up or dress it down.
Red sundresses are absolutely stunning (I’m talking something totally 50’s inspired), but I opted a little dressier. This just goes to show you that this look can be worn several ways. To keep this dressy, I specifically chose accessories that added to this look. I decided on black heels, a gold belt, my favorite Coach bag and a fun statement necklace. This look would be PERFECT for going to a play or out on a date with your SO (or a date with yourself).
STEP THREE: Pick the style.
Choosing a dress based on your body type is going to be a big part of pulling this entire look off. I love, love, love this A line dress. I have a slight obsession with this style of dress because of my body type. It sits at the tiniest part of my body, and hides my hips a little bit more so I feel like it flatters me more than any other style. The high neck and sleeveless look is classic. This really gives me a 60s vibe that I am adoring lately. My advice to you when choosing a dress is to find one that shows off your favorite part of your body. YOU DO YOU, BOO.

I think this style really speaks for itself — red does NOT have to be saved for fall and winter. You absolutely can look fantastic in the springtime in red. My goal in LIFE is to show you all how to rock colors all year round so you get the MOST out of your closet. Because — fo’ real, who has time to be buying brand new clothes every week? NOT I.

I love that you’ve been coming out to speak against the “you can’t” style of today’s fashion. I tend to that if you want to, you can, and I like that you’re giving helpful suggestions for people who want to buck the traditions and embrace their own style.
Plus, you look amazing in that dress, I don’t care what season it is.
