Happy #BEAUTYMONDAY!! Today – I’m super stoked to be bringing you today’s video: the new Naked Reloaded palette from Urban Decay!! I own all of the Urban Decay Naked palettes – so it was only natural that I needed to own this one, too. This palette is less cool-toned than its discontinued Naked counterpart. I love the peachy tones that are included in this palette (which is reminiscent of Naked Heat vibes) – and it kind of combines some of the best parts of the other palettes all together. It’s attempting to re-define neutrals. Let’s dive into this – and see if it was successful!

REVIEW:

To start off: I want to say this palette swatched TERRIBLY. If I had just seen these finger swatches randomly, I would have been like WTF is this clownery. The mattes swatched super patchy, they didn’t want to pick up the color well, and the shimmers were just okay. BUT – with all that being said: It performed a MILLION times better on my eye than they did in this swatch. SO. Don’t be completely discouraged by the swatch because it doesn’t exactly do the palette justice.

This palette was meant to take the place of the recently discontinued original Naked palette. One could say this palette started a revolution in the makeup world for neutral toned eyeshadow palettes – and really is what skyrocket Urban Decay into success back in 2010. They were already a fairly popular brand thanks to Primer Potion but this is really what sold them. I was so sad to hear they were discontinuing the palette – but really excited about the Reloaded edition.

This palette is warmer in tone to the original – and includes some peachy shades. It has similar vibes to the Naked Heat palette in the warmth – but more neutral tones. It is the first Naked release NOT to include a brush and to have two larger pan sizes on either side of the palette.

In terms of performance: I would rate this palette a solid B+! The mattes performed beautifully – but the shimmers could have packed a bit more of a punch. With drugstore + affordable brands (BH Cosmetics + Colourpop) creating out-of-this-world shimmers and metallics, there really isn’t an excuse for a high end brand NOT to have shimmers that blow me away. They have always been a bit on the lackluster side for that unfortunately. I had NO issues with patchiness on the eyes, the colors blended beautifully together and I was super impressed with the versatility of the shades. It’s a great travel palette because it’s lightweight and has every neutral shade you’d need on the go. This palette is also a great summer shade because of those pretty rose gold + peach shades.

This Urban Decay Naked Reloaded palette has been really blowing up the internet lately – as anything Naked does. I think particularly because it came in the wake of the discontinuation of the original Naked palette. That original palette was the VERY FIRST high-end makeup palette I ever purchased for myself (WAY back in high school) so I did feel a little bit sad that all these years later, it was being discontinued. It started a legacy for wearable neutral eyeshadow palettes and a revolution in the makeup world. Naked Reloaded is continuing in its footsteps.

Have you purchased this palette yet? What are your thoughts on it?! Let me know in the comments below!

  1. I’ve been wanting to test this palette out for myself! The NAKED palettes were the first I ever bought when moving into the “higher quality” makeup products as a teen. I’ve been recently loving the Cherry palette and the mini Heat palette. I was sad the original was discontinued, but this one looks cool!

  3. When they discontinued the original Naked Palette, I went and bought another one because it was one of my absolute faves! I’m sad to see that this doesn’t’ quite measure up, even though it doesn’t seem too bad. Shame that the matte shades are patchy!

  4. So bummed they’re discontinuing the original Naked palette. I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews on the Naked Reloaded palette, but this look you’ve created is stunning!
