Happy #FASHIONWEDNESDAY!! I hope that you are having the BEST day today. I’ve been spending my days creating TONS of content for you guys to enjoy while I am on maternity leave here in the next little while – and it’s been absolutely insane but also really fun. This is the best job in the world!! Today, I am going to be sharing one of my favorite pretty spring outfit (because florals for spring, ya know) and some of my favorite ways to style florals for this time of year before it gets too into summer! Let’s dive into this.
The Easiest Spring #OOTD + Fun Floral Style Tips
Keep the rest of your outfit really simple.
I chose all solid colors for the rest of my outfits because I wanted the top to really shine. When it comes to florals, they tend to occasionally be REALLY loud and hard to pattern mix with. Instead of trying to wear competing patterns, I thought I’d let my spring florals have their moment. I opted for a nice pair of white cropped denim (a Motherhood Maternity FAVORITE – you guys know this has been my most favorite store to shop at while preggo. Great prices, great quality and awesome selection to choose from). Next, I paired my all time favorite nude flats with this outfits for two reasons. 1) they are SUPER comfortable to walk in and that is just where I’m at right now. 2) they are very unassuming but still stylish. I am obsessed with the pointed toe and shiny patent leather finish. Finally, I grabbed my favorite Ampersand as Apostrophe bag in hot pink to match the pink flowers on this top so that the colors all flow together in the outfit!
Pick your favorite type of floral.
I like all kinds of florals, but I typically tend to stay away from really tiny floral print. I prefer larger flowers but I go from more cartoon-y type florals to more realistic type florals. These are water color-esque flowers, which I think are really pretty and contemporary. You can really choose whichever flower type speaks to you during this season. This is where you really get to play and let your personality shine.
Choose colors that flatter your skin tone.
I kind of LOVE light blue with my skin tone. I used to have a top a few seasons ago that was this really pretty light blue and I was OBSESSED with it. I would wear it ALL the time and eventually I had to get it out of my closet because I wasn’t wearing anything else LOL. This top is a really similar blue so I obviously gravitated towards it. I also tend to wear pink a lot, so the pink, coral and purple shades in the florals are all colors that go well with my pale skin and pink-toned complexion.
I love this outfit. It’s super classy, perfect for a brunch or an afternoon out with the ladies. It’s also really cute if you have a casual Mother’s Day breakfast or church service!!
