Happy Wednesday, everybody!!!!! I know this is two days earlier than it’s supposed to be (I’m going to blame it on the fact that I’ve BARELY been home this month and I want to get my resort review up for you guys ASAP this Friday!) BUT this month has been completely wild so many things have been crazy and sporadic – and these ten faves have been on total repeat and a complete constant in my life over the last month and none of them seem to be slowing down any time soon (thank heavens). A lot of this month’s obsessions are either makeup – because #100daysofmakeup – OR home decor pieces because my hubby and I bought our first home last month and so I feel like I’m knee deep in pictures, paint colors and furniture choosing. ANYWAYS – if you want to see what my monthly favorites are this month, please keep reading!
September 2018 Monthly Obsessions
ONE: Eyelash artwork!
Ok…it’s pretty obvious that this is one of my favorite types of artwork simply because my Taylor Mobley Makeup Artistry logo is literally a pair of lashes. So approx. 0% of people will be surprised by this. But lately, as I’ve been decorating my office, I’ve been collecting more and more cute pieces that have lashes on them and I am LOVING IT. It’s so sweet and so on brand for me in my office space. Not only am I a makeup artist, but I also am a makeup collector and girlie girl.

TWO: Millenial pink – anything this color, honestly.
This isn’t anything new either – but it’s coming to light as I’m decorating my office, as well. I’ve realized all my pops of color are millennial pink so I must be in the right generation. 😉 My lamp, desktop background, accent pieces, wall decor, book shelf decor and the inside of my closet are all this color. I have a serious pink problem (because whoever said orange is the new pink is seriously disturbed, amiright) and I just feel like this shade is muted enough that it is almost a neutral but still makes an impact. It also so fun that my office is truly MY space (aka: I am not sharing it with my husband anymore) so I feel like I can go as pink as I want to and it won’t make my hubby feel like lipstick just threw up all over him when HE tries to work.

THREE: Lime crime lip products.
Ok, this brand is fairly new to me, and I have been SO impressed with their lip products – in particular, their metallic liquid lips. They are truly metallic AND they dry completely down to a really shiny finish. I am LOVING the effect. Their liquid lipsticks are long wearing and comfortable — not super drying. Their lip gloss smells like cherries (YUM) and is a super glossy finish (very similar to the Fenty gloss bomb in texture and shine). I also LOVEEEEE these lip pencils. They’re soft and blendable and don’t bleed outside my lines. I have two eyeshadow palettes I’m going to be testing out this week – so stay tuned.

FOUR: Taylor Swift reputation tour.
I talk EXTENSIVELY on how much Taylor Swift has impacted my life and how big of a blessing it has been to be able to see her in concert TWICE this year HERE – but here is the readers digest version: I have always loved T.Swift and her music and she has influenced me in so many ways. Everyone of her songs has meaning for me, and I will forever be a huge fan. Getting to go to her concert in St. Louis with my mama was an absolute dream come true for us.

FIVE: HUDA Beauty Lashes Scarlett #08.
I. Am. Obsessed. I’ve never used anything HUDA beauty before – so I was excited to test out these super popular lashes. The Scarlett’s are the perfect mix of drama, sultry, feminine and subtly all thrown together. They feel very comfortable on, don’t tend to pull up on the inner and outer corner, and are made really sturdy so I think they will last me quite a long time. I have used several other pairs of this brand now, too, and they’ve all really impressed me. So these are DEFINITELY going to stick around.

SIX: Laneige Overnight Lip Mask.
This is an oldie but a goodie and a current favorite. Sadly, my lips have become really dry and chapped lately (probably from wearing so much lipstick). I’ve been putting this on every night before bed and it has made a WORLD of a difference. I’m honestly not really sure why I ever stopped using it in the first place, but glad it’s made an appearance again. If you want something that is going to turn your lips into a baby soft version of their cry, cracked selves – this is it.

SEVEN: Essie polish – After School Boy Blazer + For The Twill Of It.
These two colors are so much fun this fall. The navy blue is the perfect fall color and the irridecent oil slick shade is an amazing accent piece. I love anything chrome or metal-like on the nails recently, so this would make the perfect mani for October especially. Essie’s formula is also one of my absolute favorites because it’s thin so it dries really quickly. I have never had a problem with premature chipping or the bubbling issue I’ve had with a lot of other brands as well.

EIGHT: Colorpop Supershock Shadow.
I didn’t jump on the bandwagon for these for a looooooong time. I just wasn’t convinced for some reason that they were going to live up to all the hype. And the first time I used them, I really didn’t like them. I used my finger which is supposed to be the best way to get a metallic shadow to REALLY shine on the eyelid, but it was lackluster at best. THEN more recently I tried them again with a synthetic brush and it made SUCH a difference. The shimmers were blinding, the little sparkle flecks were gorgeous and they blend seamlessly into the skin. I am so glad I tried them again and used a different method so that I could become a fan.

NINE: #ootd Necklace.
This is a little bit of a blogger inside joke. If you aren’t aware, #ootd means “outfit of the day” and it is a popular hashtag in the fashion blogging community. I just think it’s really cute. It was especially appropriate for Fashion Week a few weeks ago – and I think I wore it every day. I like how dainty the chain is, and I like the fun hidden meaning behind it. Downeast Basics has a TON of cute word necklaces like this. It’s so fun to match one to your personality. They are also quickly becoming my absolute favorite clothing brand to shop at (so I’m kind of partial to anything they do, really).

TEN: Coffee table books.
I loooove coffee table books. They are beautiful, informative and look lovely on a table or a shelf. I have mine all lined up together to add some height and colors to my new book shelves. A few notable favorites are: Cashmere & Cupcakes, Lauren Conrad’s Celebrate (actually..any and all of my LC books are fabulous, tbh) and my LIKEtoKNOWit book featuring tons of my favorite fashion influencers.
