HAPPY FASHION WEDNESDASY, everyone!! Today, I’m going to be trying something new! I have signed up for a new subscription service: STITCH FIX. I decided to sign up because I love the idea of having a personal stylist pick fun surprise items for me and I love subscription boxes (which you’ll know if you read my BoxyCharm reviews). It’s also super affordable – $20 / month. PLUS whatever you decide to keep, you can put that $20 towards your final purchase. LOVE that. In addition to that – if you decided to buy ALL 5 items that come in your Stitch Fix box, you get the $20 off PLUS 25% off the total purchase price. Stitch Fix is great because the more boxes you get, the more your stylist will get to know you and what you love. Anyways – let’s get more into this month’s box below!

June 2019 STITCH FIX Try On Haul – What Worked & What Didn’t!

A little more about Stitch Fix:

Stitch Fix was fun to set up because you get to kind of rule your box. You fill out a Style Profile where you put in all your sizes, measurements and style preference. You can be as specific as you want here. I also really like that you can pick your price point. It goes from 1. The Cheaper The Better, 2. $50-$100, 3. $100-$150, 4. $150-$200, & 5. $200+. Your stylist will stay within these guidelines, so you aren’t going to end up with a $200 jacket if you picked “the cheaper the better”. I chose $50-$100 for most of my items because that’s typically what I spend on clothes, shoes and accessories. You are also able to leave “notes” for your stylist before they choose your next fix. I realized I wasn’t quite specific enough with my notes to my stylist this time (I’ll explain more below), so I made a mental note to be SUPER specific with my needs for the next fix in hopes to connect with my stylist more! She was super great and actually looked through my Pinterest boards to find things I was pinning and loving. They also include a little sheet of suggested outfits to wear each piece with (super helpful) and if you really don’t connect or like your stylist, you can always request a new one!

Pick #1: French Grey Bella Maternity Fitted Knit Dress – $54.00

Ok. This was my #1 favorite piece from my fix. I’m OBSESSED. This maternity dress is SO CUTE and so comfortable. I love the lemon design, I love the fit, and I love the price. $30-$55 is about what I spend on dresses typically (especially maternity dresses – they seem to be a little more pricey) so that was GREAT. I ended up keeping this one!

Pick #2: Skies Are Blue Maternity Inez Maternity Top – $54.00

Ok. I was SO conflicted on this because I actually LOVED this top. It’s SO CUTE on – I loved the embroidery on the neckline, the pattern on the top, and the fit. Unfortunately, there was some strange puckering on the side of the top because my bump is getting so big now that it didn’t fit exactly how I would feel comfortable in. I ultimately ended up passing on this – but it was simply because the style didn’t fit my bump not because I didn’t love the top!!

Pick #3: Liverpool Temma Denim Jacket – $88.00

This is a jacket I would LOVE if it was September. I think this was a miss only because it’s WAY too hot in Missouri now to wear it. It’s a pretty thick and heavy jacket and I just would die of heat exhaustion in the 80-95 degree summer weather here – especially in my 3rd trimester. I let the stylist know after this what our typical temps are in MO this time of year so that I make sure I get more weather appropriate picks!

Pick #4: 1822 Denim Jerrod Maternity Jeans – $58.00

I really liked these jeans. They looked SUPER cute on me – but for the same reason I stated above, I am choosing to return these. It’s just TOO hot in the summer to wear a lot of long jeans, and I have quite a few that I’ll wear until after I give birth. If I had gotten this fix even a month ago, I totally would have kept them because I would have had more time to wear them. But now being so close to the end, it just wasn’t worth it to keep them.

Pick #5: Loveappella Maternity Abdera Maternity Knit Top – $44.00

I LOVED THIS TOP! I know it’s stripes, and I have a million striped tops but holy cow is this comfortable. I love this for a few reasons: 1. It is DARLING with my bump. 2. It’s so breezy and light, so I know I won’t get insanely hot. 3. It will be fabulous even postpartum because it’s just that kind of cut! I really enjoy that I will be able to wear this all the way through the end of the summer, especially since I won’t be wearing super skin-tight clothes right after delivery. It’s soft and swing-y and it looks great with leggings and shorts. I definitely kept this!

RECAP:

SO. I did end up keeping 2 of the 5 pieces. Some wouldn’t consider that a successful fix BUT I think it really was considering it was my first one and my stylist is just getting to know me. PLUS I actually LOVED the style of every one of the pieces she included – and the reasons I didn’t keep them wasn’t because I didn’t think they were cute or didn’t think they were “me”. It can be so hard to dress the bump these days and I didn’t let her know any kind of weather restrictions (I didn’t even think of that). I feel confident that my next fix will be fabulous with the tweaks I made and the new detailed notes I left for her!

PIN THIS FOR LATER:

I hope this was helpful when it comes to deciding whether or not you want to splurge on a monthly (or every other month….or every 3 months) subscription to Stitch Fix! I truly did LOVE the box and it was really exciting to get the pieces delivered to my door. I 10/10 recommend!!

  3. That dress is adorable on you! Hopefully next time they’ll send more weather-appropriate picks for you. I wouldn’t want to wear a jacket like that (even though is SO cute and looks SO good on you) in the middle of summer. Great try-on!

  4. I’ve considered trying Stitch Fix for quite some time now. I think I need to give them a go because GIRL they nailed your style so well and everything was super cute! Bummer that you couldn’t keep a few of them due to the weather, but hey – there will be other seasons before we know it!

  5. I have never heard of Stitch Fix until now, but admittedly I like the concept. I love fashion and can be very specific when it comes to my pieces, but I struggle when it comes to price points. I now am keen on trying this subscription box, so that I may have greater control over my spend (well somewhat). The pieces highlighted in your maternity haul were very nice – my favorites being the Knit Dress and Denim Jacket. Thanks for the intro to this subscription box!
