Hello, party people! Happy Monday! For me, that means it is finals week. Woo-hoo! So, today we are going to be looking at what was included in my Ipsy Glam Bag for this month. I’m such a huge fan of Ipsy (and not just because they ship the glam bags in bright pink packages). I love the products they send, I love that it is mostly makeup items and I love that I get an opportunity to try things that I may not normally buy for myself. SO. Without further ado, let’s jump right into this.

About Ipsy Glam Bag:

So, some of you may be asking: What is Ipsy?  It is a subscription box (and if you follow me on insta — which if you don’t, you should —  you know about my subscription box addiction) for beauty products. It is delivered in a bright pink envelope and every Ipsy glam bag comes with a cute little makeup pouch to add to your collection. Beauty Box Five and Birchbox (two of my favorites) are awesome, but I don’t get a new and adorable makeup bag to keep every month. Plus one for Ipsy! The downside to Ipsy is that most of the items are sample sized with a handful of deluxe sizes. I prefer to get products that I can use more than once BUT for $10/month, it isn’t a bad deal. So let’s see what I got this month.

Product #1: The Balm Meet Matt(e) Trimony

This is sample of one of the eyeshadows found in the Meet Matt(e) Trimony Eye Shadow Palette by The Balm. I really love this company (they make my very favorite highlighter, found here). I think they have great products and the consistency of this eyeshadow is spot on. It blends like a DREAM and it has bomb color pay off. A+, Ipsy. Now I want the whole palette.

Product #2: treStique Highlight Stick

Guys this is the coolest thing I’ve ever seen. At first I pulled it out of the bag and was like “crap, where’s the lid/did this get all over everything/I’m going to be so mad about this if I lost product” and then when I realized it was just a clever lid, I was like “wow I love this/I think I need 12/hey product designers you killed it”. Also the highlight is super chill. Another A+ for Ipsy.

Product #3: ModelCo Power Lash Mascara in Black

Awkwardly, the only place I could find this mascara listed was on Birchbox’s website…whoops. This mascara was good, but it isn’t going to be replacing my Better Than Sex mascara any time soon. I felt like, yes, it defined my eyes but I didn’t feel like my lashes really stood out like they do with BTS. I will use it in conjunction with some other sample mascaras I have until it runs out but I’m not going to go out and buy this one. B-.

Product #4: Luxie Beauty Small Angled Eye Brush

YAY FOR BRUSHES. I get SO stoked when I get brushes in my subscription boxes. I JUST posted on insta that I have too many brushes but who cares? Brushes are the bomb. SO there. Anyways. This brush is used for brows or eyeliner. I liked it as a liner brush. It isn’t quite stiff enough for brows, in my opinion. But it does do a really great job as a liner brush. It is super tiny so you can get really thin lines. Solid A.

Product #5: Eva NYC Get Glossed! Hair Serum

Alright, Ipsy. This one is pretty spot on. I have super dry hair (because Idaho) and I tend to get the world’s most obnoxious fly-aways. I’m not kidding when I say my baby hairs will stick STRAIGHT UP into the hair like they were styled that way. yeah right. So I tried this stuff to see if it would tame my baby hairs or if it would just make my hair oily (which is usually what happens with hair serums for those of us with super fine hair). AND contrary to what I believed would happen, this stuff did NOT make my hair oily (win!) and it actually helped keep my little hairs in place for most of the day (double win!). I would definitely look into purchasing a full bottle of this. A+ again.

WOW. So to wrap this up for you: That was 3 A+’s, 1 A and a B- in this box. That is a solid A average. Well done, Ipsy! Bonus points for the cutest holographic makeup bag! All in all, this was a really good month. I liked that I received mostly makeup items and that they all were really awesome. I like Ipsy because it is a little more customizable and I like that I almost always LOVE what I get in my bags. It is only $10 a month, one of the cheapest subscription boxes available, and you get a lot for your money.

If you decide to sign up with Ipsy Glam Bag, I would really appreciate if you used my affiliate link:

You definitely do not have to, but it does help make Blonde & Ambitious the best it can possibly be!

Nicely done, Ipsy. I look forward to August’s Glam Bag!
