Happy #fashionwednesday, everyone!!! Camo is the trend of the moment – and it started back in 2018. Luckily (or unluckily, depending on your view of Camo) – it’s still in style and making a big comeback again this year. Camo MAY seem super masculine and not at all appropriate for women style, but honestly, men’s fashion for women has been coming into style for years now if NYFW has anything to say about it. Camo can totally be feminine – it’s all in how you style it. Obviously, we want to make sure that you don’t look like you are heading into the barracks or going on a hunting trip with your uncle, so check out these tips on how to seamlessly pull off this year’s Camo trend:

How To Pull Off The CAMO Trend

ONE: Make sure your accessories are feminine and dainty.

You want to draw attention to the fact that you are, indeed, a woman! Wear a camo dress with pretty heels or a classy clutch. Pop on a sparkly statement necklace or earrings! You want to make sure that you have some traditionally feminine pieces into the look to tie it together.

TWO: Choose ONE Camo piece to pull into the outfit (no head-to-toe print here).

No need to wear camo pants with a camo top and jacket. Choose ONE piece to be your camo statement – whether it’s a clutch, a dress or a jacket! Sometimes it is fun to wear monochromatic or mono-patterned looks, but camo runs the risk of being WAY too busy when you try to do that.

THREE: Add fun pops of color to the look.

I love pops of neon with camo. It’s SO cute and combines masculine patterns with bright girlie accent colors. Another cute combo is light pink and camo – it’s all about that juxtaposition between boy-ish and girlie.

FOUR: Avoid animal print.

Again – see point #2: camo tends to get very busy VERY fast. Stick to plain colors so that the camo can be the star of the show.

FIVE: Wearing traditionally feminine pieces in Camo print for an unexpected surprise.

Try wearing feminine pieces with camo pattern. I love camo flats/heels, camo clutches, and camo dresses instead of the usual oversized jacket or leggings! It adds that extra detail of femininity you need when rocking this pattern!

SIX: Make sure you are highlighting your best features.

This is a personal preference for sure – because I know a lot of girls love to rock that oversized style!!! I personally want to make sure that I am highlighting all my best features when wearing camo. Now – it was a LITTLE different for me with this dress being so pregnant, I couldn’t highlight my waist like I usually would but the bump kind of steals the show and looks cute no matter what. LOL.

SEVEN: Don’t just wear it during the day!

I see a LOT of casual camo style being worn like this during the day. Whether its a slouchy tee with high waisted mom jeans, a cute and casual dress like this one, or cute and fitted camo leggings, daytime style is a BREEZE. But try to mix it up! Add cute heels or camo boots to a black body con dress, or a camo mini skirt with a white tee for an evening out.

Originally, I was going to link this exact dress up (because it’s still on sale) however: after wearing this dress post-shoot and washing it once, it began to fall apart. It was SO cute that first time and I recommended it right after I bought it – but seeing how it held up after just two wears and one wash, I’m super disappointed with the quality (especially considering it was over $40). SO, instead, I am going to link up similar dresses at the top of this article that I know are better quality and will hold up much better for the price. If you were wondering – that is why!!

  1. I love camo on other people, but I can’t quite get there myself! I think it’s because I grew up in a rural small town and camo with neon was just what all the country guys wore so that’s all I can think of!

  2. I love non-traditional camo prints, like ones with unexpected colors. Your dress is too cute, so sad to hear it didn’t last but your honesty is so refreshing! You are looking great here.

  3. You and @summertelban are on the same brain wavelength right now because you both posted cute camo dresses tied at the hem and paired with denim jackets! I love this look on you so much!
