Happy #BEAUTYMONDAY + Valentine’s Week!!! It is the week of LOVE + my hubby and I are kicking off the celebration by being stuck in a car for 10 hours today on our way home from visiting his fam in Louisiana. 😉 Quality bonding time, amiright? TODAY – I am SO excited because I got to test out a BUNCH of new products from Physicians Formula in this video + honestly? This makeup look was the prettiest I have felt in a long, long time. No lie. It was still perfectly in place after almost 10 hours (blush, bronzer + all) and I didn’t even use setting spray. I am always impressed with PF products but especially after this most recent video showcasing a really easy & simple Valentine’s Day look! Check it out:

REVIEW:
PHEW – there is a LOT to unpack here so let’s get started with the face products:
Blush/Bronzer/Highlight:
These were SO impressive to me. I love that they have expanded their bronzing shades to include a light, medium AND now a dark shade so that it works with a much wider range of skin tones. PLUS if you have lighter skin like me, it works as bronzer + contour, which is fab + easy. I love that the formula of their butter products are soft, creamy and blendable. I had to problems blending the contour seamlessly into the hollows of my cheeks – and the blush products meshed together REALLY nicely. Plus the scent is a nice touch.
The highlight was SO blinding and gorgeous. I love how bright it looked – I kept getting distracted by my own face during the day. The only down side to the highlight is that it has actual glitter chunks in it. I loved how bright it looked on my face, but I could have done without looking like I sprayed a Victoria’s Secret body glitter on my face. I doubt other people looked close enough to really tell, but I do prefer a shimmer vs glitter in highlight form.
Next, onto the eyes:
Eyeshadow:
I was very pleasantly surprised with the matte shades in this eyeshadow palette, as well as the range of colors. I am always impressed with PF products, but drugstore eyeshadow can be tricky. Luckily – they did it exactly right with these brown mattes. They were creamy, they blended together nicely, they weren’t patchy AT ALL. The shimmers were a little less impressive: the copper shade applied just fine with my finger – but those lighter shades had a REALLY hard time applying to my eye with either a brush OR my finger. They just didn’t POP. If you are someone who likes super subtle makeup and just wants a hint of a glimmer – you’d probably love them. I was looking for more of a true brightening effect.
Gel Eyeliner:
I am actually obsessed with their Satin Gel Eyeliner now. It glided over my eyeshadow SO smoothly, and had the exactly same lasting power as a liquid eyeliner, if not more. It didn’t budge ONCE during the day and I was out in crazy wind, my eyes were watering and it was drizzling. If that isn’t a testament to good eyeliner I don’t know what is. The brown shade was subtle but still really impactful, and I felt like it gave me the most natural cat eye effect.
*I also tested the matte gel liner first, but it did have a bit of trouble gliding over the eyeshadow.
Mascara:
I am SUPER picky about mascaras but this one was really nice for a drugstore formula! I love that they include both a lengthening and volumizing mascara. The volumizing was perfect for my top lashes, didn’t clump and was SUPER black. The lengthening was just the right size to grab onto my tiny lashes on the bottom, and coat them evenly without getting mascara on my skin under my eye. My only qualm is that I wish the wands were a little bit longer – it was kind of tricky getting into the inner and outer corners because the wands were so short!
I hope you guys loved this tutorial + review as much as I did. It’s so much fun to be able to consistently work with brands I genuinely LOVE and use on a regular basis and PF is one of those. ALSO – I didn’t show it in this video but I did use their Healthy Foundation as my base in this look – and I am convinced that is one of the reasons my face stayed SO pretty all day long. I didn’t even set it with powder!
