Happy TUESDAY! It’s V-day week – which means it’s the week of LOVE, and I’m embracing it. I love LOVE and I love Valentine’s Day (even though my husband and I aren’t big celebrators of it). It’s the pink and red and sparkle and glitter and candy. What is not to love??? So – today’s blog post is for those of you who are not HUGE, elaborate Valentine’s Day celebrators. These are ten SUPER easy dates that are still romantic and still fun. That’s my hubby and I’s M.O. – easy and fun (with some romance thrown in). Let’s dive into this.

Cook dinner at home together with a full 3 course meal: appetizers, dinner & dessert!

This is a fun one because it’s something you can do together! I personally HATE cooking, but if I’m doing it with Adam and we make a whole evening out of it, it can be super fun. We put music on, dance around the kitchen and each take certain parts of the meal to work on. It’s a great way to bond and make something yummy at the same time. Try to avoid being on your phones as much as possible. 🙂

Have a Valentine’s Day themed movie night.

I plan on watching the movie Valentine’s Day at SOME point this week – and if your man is down for some chick flicks (Adam owes me because two years ago he took me to see DEADPOOL for V-day….), take advantage of it!!! Pick some cute ones out that emphases romance and love and snuggle in with some movie snacks and popcorn.

Have an in-home board game night.

Strip poker, anyone? But for real: game nights are some of our favorite ways to spend an evening. Grab all your favorites or pick up something new at the store and play a few rounds. Grab game night finger food snacks to have at the ready and enjoy the evening laughing and playing just the two of you.

Make it a no-gift holiday, and instead focus on doing a fun experience together!

We aren’t big on v-day gifts in our house because we are JUST coming off the tails of our birthdays and Christmas. There just really isn’t anything we need! I DO request some chocolate covered strawberries but that’s really just an excuse to eat my favorite snack. 😉 We prefer to do an activity of some kind together instead. So put that money you would have spent on gifts, and go out and experience something together!

Have a technology-free night, and play 20 questions. Learn more about each other!

I love doing this with Adam. After a lot of years together, you think you know everything but something you stumble on a question that might just surprise you!! I always laugh when I find out something I didn’t know. Find a big list (doesn’t have to just be 20 q’s) and snuggle in bed asking/answering the questions. Mix it up by trying to guess each other’s answer before they say it. How well DO you know your S/O??

If you are sappy – write each other love notes you can look back on when you need to remember how much you love one another.

Adam is NOT a super sappy guy. We don’t typically do love notes or cards or anything like that. I am not really into that kind of thing either – but if you ARE that kind of couple – sap it up! Write a love note from each of you listing all the things you love best about your spouse/partner. Read them together and then save them for a rainy day. Relationships are HARD and sometimes you need a reminder of how much they love you and care about you.

Art, Science or History Museum trip!!

We are so lucky because all of the museums in St. Louis are FREE! This means dinner and a museum date can be so inexpensive and fun. We just did that for a work event of Adam’s at the arm museum and it was so much fun. We have lived here for two years now, and still haven’t been to the since museum so that’s next on our list of museums to go to.

Serve your S/O breakfast in bed & make a rule not to leave the bed all day long……except for bathroom breaks or food. 😉

This one is for my romantic couples who wanna have a little extra ~ special ~ added to their day. Celebrate on the weekend when you are both home and make it a goal to leave bed as little as possible. Instead – plan for breakfast in bed and spend the whole day hanging out in bed. Clothing optional, of course. 😉

Find a local comedy show to enjoy for the night! It’s low-key and bonus you’ll laugh all night long.

Ok. This is always one I want to do but only have done once in college. Turns out there is a comedy club in St. Louis so Adam and I are going to HAVE to check this out. I love comedy shows and I think they’re so much fun. This is a great way to spend time together. Plan an evening and throw dinner in as well!

Have a goal planning or dreaming night.

This is one of my favorite things to do with Adam. We have so many times when we just sit there and dream about the future. IT’s a way to grow closer and fall even more in love with your S/O. <3
