Suns out, snacks out. Amiright?? Happy THURSDAY, everyone! I’m posting my Fourth of July party a little bit early this year because baby Jack is most likely going to make his appearance at some point next week and we may not have time to celebrate like we usually do!! SO. Instead of waiting until next week – I’m sharing my super simple family-focused Fourth of July backyard BBQ with popchips today! Let’s dive right into this.

The Easiest Fourth of July Backyard BBQ with popchips

The outfit:

This has been on repeat for me lately being 9 months pregnant. You guy have seen my overalls a million and one times this summer (#sorrynotsorry) but I gotta wear what fits at this point – and there’s no point in buying a whole bunch of new maternity clothes this close to the end! SO. That makes us a Lizzie McGuire outfit repeater and I’m totally 150% ok with that. It’s just how it goes.

I’ve got my FAVORITE maternity overalls from Motherhood Maternity, the red & white tee that I wore last year for Fourth of July (it doesn’t cover my belly – but luckily my overalls hide that fact), and my red keds because cute sandals or wedges are out of the question right now.

The snacks:

SNACKS ON SNACKS ON SNACKS! I started with the basics: baked beans & Mac ‘n’ cheese for our main-ish dish (this isn’t for like a full on dinner. Just some yummy food for us all to enjoy throughout the afternoon). For my dessert – fruit pizza that looks like an American flag OBVIOUSLY (I’ve shown this before as well – super easy to make. You can find the recipe here). And for a quick grab-n-go snack? Popchips in a few different flavors so there is something for everyone. SO. EASY.

Whether you are craving something salty or something sweet – popchips has you covered. My personal favorite flavors are BBQ (especially appropriate here), Sour Cream & Onion, and Peanut Butter & Chocolate Nutter Puffs. We’ve got them spread out over our table and chairs so anyone can grab them at any time. Popchips are amazing because you don’t have to sacrifice on health to have a phenomenal snack. They are healthier and lighter than their potato chip counterpart. If you are looking for a perfect summer snack, road trip buddy or poolside crunch – these are definitely it! PLUS: they are gluten-free and only 130 calories per serving. Nutter Puffs are JUST as fabulous: they are a perfect “anytime” snack, with 5g of protein and made with real peanut butter. #thedream SHOP them HERE on Amazon or find them in your local store HERE.

The activities:

We opted for CORNHOLE this year! I bought this for my dad for Christmas – and it’s been a big hit this summer. We play singles and doubles and it’s always a fun time. This is definitely a very midwest activity – but feel free to throw in whatever your family loves doing! Batmitton, volleyball, pool time – as long as you are spending time together, that is what matters most. 🙂

PIN THIS FOR LATER:

I love the Fourth of July – and it’s Adam’s favorite holiday! We always said we’d try to have our babies on the 4th of July and Halloween – so I’ll feel SUPER bummed if our next one isn’t born sometime in October. 😉

We love any holiday that brings our family together this way – spending time outside enjoying the sunshine and warm weather. PLUS – if we get to do it while eating yummy snacks (heyyyy popchips) then we are even MORE into it.
