In today’s episode, my friend Kali and I talk all about another key part of my yearly goal setting: VISION BOARDS! We chat about what our individual vision board processes look like – and why they’re SO important to us reaching our goals throughout the year, what apps/websites we use to create our boards, some of the things we personally have on our own vision boards and what inspires us when we are creating. VISION BOARD EXAMPLES FROM TAYLOR & KALI:

BULLET POINTS FROM THIS EPISODE:

  • Why do you create vision boards? What is their purpose in your life + business?
    • The reason that I kind of started doing vision boards is just to help me figure out what my goals as a business owner are and what that kind of looks like and just for positive reinforcement and affirmations and everything like that. I just think they’re so important. And even if you’re not a business owner, just in your personal life, because I think everybody should have goals and we should all dream big. And I really think that that vision boards help. So dang much.
  • How do you create vision boards? Physically? Digitally? What do you like to use to get inspiration?
    • Last year I actually ended up making a physical vision board and I just went to Walmart. I grabbed a big piece of poster board and then just started printing out things that I found on Pinterest or online. So I did it that way last year and it’s kinda a nice little decor piece if you have an office or anything like that. But this year I actually decided that I was gonna make it virtually. I also use Canva and I do set it as my background image on my desktop. I think that’s such a big help though. You look at it every single day.
    • If you’re somebody who maybe doesn’t use a laptop every day, then I can definitely say okay, you might wanna do a physical one, but if you’re on your computer every day, it’s so helpful to open it up first thing in the morning and you see that. I do a lot of positive affirmations onto my vision board. Reading through those every single day is SO helpful.
  • What inspires you when creating your vision board? Where do you go to get inspiration while creating?
    • I found all of mine on Pinterest. It’s definitely not hard for those of you wanting to, you know, create your own vision board. All you have to do is just screenshot some things from Pinterest and then just throw ’em into Canva, rearrange them!
    • Also, Canva has those templates and honestly, if you have the means to, you know, even buy a desktop vision board just to kind of get you started, people make those as well, right on Etsy. So there are so many different ways you can do it.
    • Put in Pinterest “vision board”, just not to necessarily take people’s goals because everybody’s goals are gonna be totally different. But look at how people have them set up, look at the way that somebody’s put them together so that you can start putting yourself like in these and having an idea of where to go. Cause sometimes looking at a blank page is really stressful, and you’re like, okay, where do I start? What do I even type to start getting ideas? And that can be what keeps people from moving forward with a task. So instead of letting that be your block, like if that blank page is really blocking, you start with a template search on Pinterest for some ideas, go on Etsy. Like there’s a ton of different places that you can get ideas for it.
